Diplo in Civ5 is always about knowing what the AI is thinking and exploiting it. You can use Diplomacy quite well, but if you piss of an AI civ to any extent they will go crazy and try to make unreasonable demands. There is also a code that will flag an AI civ as greedy, its the kind of civs that will come up to you asking for open borders and 5 of any strat resource and offering only open borders in return.

It can be used. The most fun if you are rich and there are 2 strong AI civs is to ally one of them, exploit the heck of the trades (Sell everything you have extra of) and then bribe the other in declaring war against your friend.

But its very poor indeed. Especially when you ramp up the difficulty level and, instead of playing smarter, they are simply given loads and loads of bonus resources...

Heck of a fun and addictive game though...

Can you spot all the wonders in this city?

just finished singularity. i enjoyed it, there's a nice pacing/balance in the gameplay between gunfights and puzzles/stealth/etc., which is what most modern shooters are missing imo. the story is sort of weird and not really easy to understand, and it seems they cross a few time paradoxes to get to the end point. and it's really merciless in not giving you options to change shit except for controls, and even then it's sparse with the options. also not including subtitles in a game like this when the music is banging loud at all times should be considered a crime. but whatever, gameplay was enjoyable, so that still gives the game a small plus from me.

Whoa, kinda creepy. I came into this thread to basically write the same post as Sentura . Basically agree with his points. I found the art and environments to be really well polished and a pleasure to explore for the first third of the game, and while the quality didn't diminish the uniqueness of each location did. Most of the set pieces were as impressive as they should be though. Would have loved some more puzzles that actually relied on time control, something like Insta's mechanic in Whoopservatory would have fit in so well with the theme. Overall it was more enjoyable than I'd been lead to believe from what I read around launch.

Also really liked the game play and pacing in Singularity, but the lack of subtitles was so ridiculous. Also there were only like 3 models for the huddled up bodies on the floor and whenever you kill the first monsters, so some of the first stages kind of irked me with how mundane they were.

The game was cool but the whole time I was playing I kept thinking, "if only they would have had a little more time and money".

playing cod: black cocks. cant help it but like all cod titles the guns feel like airsoft shit and the sp story is kind of epileptic and uncoherent with way too much scripted sequences. the rest of the game feels like a piece of art though.. the levels are amazing.

I've been playing a criminally underrated game... Clive Barker's Undying. I love this game so much, if you look at the screens you can see the graphics are kinda hit and miss but they've been rather oddball since it's release, on one hand there are some awesome detailed textures and on the other some are just photos made to tile. The gameplay is brilliant. You're an Irishman who has returned to the manor of a friend he fought with in the first world war, in order to help solve the mystery of a family curse. On the way you'll encounter werewolves, pirates, wizards, monks and some things I can't even describe. It's a definate must play if you've never checked it out, best £5 I ever spent!

Note screenshots 5 through 7, at one point you explore an old abandoned monastery for several hours and then after procuring the correct items you travel back in time to the monastery when it was still being used. Very very atmospheric.

IIRC you can set the movement to camera relative somewhere in the options, makes James handle less like a wheelbarrow.

I loved Undying years ago, I replayed it several times, I'm wondering how it would feel to play it nowadays.

Where did you got it D3ads?

Oh I've had it for years, I got it from a computer fair ages ago. This is the third time I've played through it. As for getting it now... I have no idea other than a bargain bin!

Been playing BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for Super Versus Battle but judging by my performance last week it might be a bit of a lost cause. Decided to drop Taokaka in BB because she’s way too much effort, and went back to Tsubaki because she’s one of the few characters who makes sense (although less with the ‘balance’ update).

I’m only entering BB because I play MvC3 against people who complain about doing motions backwards if you jump them and run-away with rush-down characters (seriously, with Felicia's charge move I've got 5 stocks up against Wolverine). But there will be casual setups and it’s a fun game if you’re not taking it too seriously.

Heh, I would say Wolverine is worse than Pheonix. Just not quite so brainless.

I do like the UMvC3 changes to both, but even by Capcom standards a lot of Michael is being took with that.

    quoting in agreement.

Also I played Limbo since it came out on PC. Got super strong deja vu for Heart of Darkness, a PS1 platformer game full of CGI cutscenes of the hero (a little boy, on an adventure to save his dog from an evil planet) dying horribly. Quit when I reached a puzzle I couldn't figure out for longer than ten minutes (there were two boxes and a button that made them rise to the ceiling, and I needed to get one of them to a higher ledge to reach a ladder, but the ledge was sloped so it kept sliding off).

Just thought I'd warn anyone interested in checking out House Buying Adventure 2011 to stay away. IGN gave it a 2/10 for a reason. Most unfun game ever, but I hear it's amazing if you actually win.

So just gave STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl a shot, it seems great, but the camera shake makes me incredibly dizzy. Anyone know of way to turn this off?
