Started Morrowind... This game has not aged well, especially on a 1920x1080 screen resolution

There are tons of mods that make it more beautiful.

A friend of mine's been running a Minecraft server, for the last two nights I've stayed up depressingly late at night exploring, ruining ecosystems, and building stuff.

    [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/H4arn.jpg]

This is made entirely of sandstone, about 800 units worth, which required harvesting 2400 units of sand. I was wholesale pulling up entire beaches while listening to podcasts and zoning out. That highest level is at the top level available to build. There are four levels, and at the very top is a smiley face on the roof, facing the sky. On the opposite side is a floating island farm with water flowing down on the sandstone path out to it, forming waterfalls down the other side of the mountain I've built on, running down into a lake at the base.

Also this whole thing is about two ingame days of walking from the spawnpoint. I'm not ENTIRELY clear on the path from spawn to the tower actually, that's how far it is. Somewhere in the middle I built a sandstone and brick structure with a staircase down to a bunch of lava pools, and surrounding that were the beaches I ruined for my sandstone.

I played Donkey Kong Returns with a friend this weekend and man, I hadn't had that much fun in a local game for years!! Definitely worth buying.

    3D dot heroes

The ridiculous DOF, HDR and sharp shadows make the game look surreal, almost like looking at toys.

From software is fast becoming my favourite developer currently still in tact (RIP Troika )

L4D2 "Confogl" matches. Confogl is a custom server setup that decreases spawn timers, increases infected damage, removes weapons beyond Tier 1 (smgs, pump shotguns, hunting rifles (of which you only get one per team)), removes health packs, and makes other items like pipe bombs and pills rarer. On top of that the matches I've been getting into have been using the !buffsi setting, which increases SI damage and decreases their cooldown. I'm actually pretty good, but shit going wrong is an inevitability these sorts of matches, with those balance changes. Thankfully these are just between friends and not actually something in the competitive "scene".

just finished bioshock 2 ( buying/playing games half a year to a year too late is great for your wallet )

+the setting is still totally awesome

+the different weapons /plasmids /ammo types/ upgrade possibilitys are diverse, fun and across the board useful

+its polished and properly qaed i dont think i encountered a single bug ( except maybe for a ragdoll arm intersecting into some railing ... everbodys got that shit )

+story and ending are better than the first one (you heard me !)

+no bossfight that is not supported by the core mechanics

+no escort mission that is not supported by the core mechanics

+horde-mini-game that can be initilized within the campaign is challenging and fun.

+tons of decision making goes into every kill and every interaction with the world ... this thing is bursting out of all seams with DESIGN

-too much too loot sometimes i was just spinning around the camera and hitting use to pick up everything around me.

-enemys dont give enough feedback when hit sometimes it feels like you are playing fallout or some other turn based rpg

-when combat gets really intense there is way too much stuff to keep track off which stressed me out quit a bit

-locations within rapture are not diverse/characteristic enough

-i think i missed a lot of water cooler moments by not look in the right direction and the right time.

all around awesome game 8/10 as good if not better than bioshock 1

Bioshock 2 kept crashing 10 minutes into the game. After having to deal with GFWL, I just didn't want to play the game anymore.

Just picked it up, only played a couple hours.

Also been playing the new Castlevania. Game must have cost like 100 million dollars cause they introduce characters and then toss them aside never to be seen again like it's nothing. Not sure what to make of it yet. Around halfway through.

Throughout my entire time playing I was regularly thinking how much of an epic job it must been producing so many detailed environments crammed with detail/assets. Due to the pace of the game you blitz through them really quickly, and not just that but the game is also extremely long for a current-gen game.

Finished Lords of Shadow. What an amazing game. I have absolutely no idea how they will top this in a sequel. They threw the kitchen sink into this one. I'm eagerly awaiting the Resurrection DLC.

Agreed. I forced myself to slow down and take in the environments in many places, including Pan's temple and the music box. Baba was downright creepy.

I bought Shatter during the holiday sale on steam, and just now got around to playing it. Man, that's a fun game, which is at least 90% due to the soundtrack. The boss battles are so great. Those circular levels totally mess with my head though.

You forgot to mention that it is possibly one of the most pointless sequels ever, though

I enjoyed it of course, but all I could think through the entire game was "I just got totally milked of my money."

I'll get my copy today, we should do some laggy fights again!

It's fairly complicated and every character has a death touch, though.
