Somehow teleported
Quoteto a secret scientist hideout in Surface Tension
, no idea how I did it since I'd already visited the area where I suddenly teleported.. lol.
God Damn the cliffs are epic, I love the way the f-16s blow the hanger up in the distance... is that all in the skybox?!

Currently at Power Up. Liking it so far.
A small bug/issue:
QuoteIn the Silo, I went for the fuel first. Then it showed (on the signs) that it was ready to launch (since I've forgotten so much about the original story I forgot about the air). Then I realized I forgot something, and jumped back into the slio and turned the air on. Then it worked. Just a small issue..

Stuck in Residue Processing in the room with the radioactive vats and giant plungers. What do I done did do? :ssj:

Go to the other side of the room...?

Go to the other side of the room...?
It is rarely that simple in single-player design.
Problem #1, I was stuck in the pit. Eventually I found a ladder to get back on to the catwalk, but it was very difficult to see;
Circling around a vat (the ladder is conveniently obscured by geometry);

Now with the ladder in sight, it is nearly the same color as the wall. I must have gone around the room several times before noticing;

Problem #2, the room is lit uniformly and has a nearly symmetrical layout. I can't tell which way I even came from or which way I need to go. Jumping across the vats hadn't even entered my mind as an option.

Did you play hl1 algor?
-
Several times, are you expecting me to remember what to do based on how it was in HL? Not that I remember how this room flowed, but many things have been changed in BM, so I stopped expecting it to be identical.
-
It is identical to Half-Life, hence me asking. I haven't played it in almost 2 years and rememberd easily enough.

Congrats, but maybe your memory is not as good as you think. Unless if generealizing the concept of going from one side to the other is "identical". Observation area (enter through tiny pipe and out through bright red opening):

Actually entering the room, no collapsed catwalk that dumps the player into a confusing mess. The geometry and lighting make it pretty clear the player has to jump straight across.
-
I don't see your problem here if I'm honest. In Half-Life you jump across. In BMS you jump across. Wham bam. The remake might be more messy in design but it is still the same.

So I've finally finished it (well, up to the end of Lambda Core, obviously), so here are my thoughts:
The Good:
- All of the environments are extremely well done with some areas are almost unrecognisable compared to the originals!
- The sheer amount of custom content and work gone into the mod has paid off immensely, I never felt like I was anywhere other than BMRF.
- Excellent voice acting for Barney and the scientists.
- Dat Skybox in Surface Tension!
- Revamped and recoded enemies/weapons are awesome.
- The whole thing is so well polished and I felt like I was playing an actual retail title and apart from one little graphical defect, there were no bugs!
- Questionable Ethics and Lambda Core were especially utterly fantastic and very faithful to the originals.
The bad:
- On A Rail is cut down massively

- Surface Tension is also chopped in half!
- A few textures are too "hand-painted" and look bad next to higher quality efforts.
- HECU were far too accurate, being able to hit you constantly from a mile away...
- Some odd areas are occasionally bland looking compared to the majority.
The ugly:
- The final battle in the Lambda Reactor room was unplayable, I was getting 5fps on a Quad core with 4GB of memory! I had to hide under the platform until it was time to enter the portal to avoid being eviscerated by the aliens above.
- HECU voice acting made me cringe so much, I'll probably need a facelift.
That's it! You guys should be proud at what you managed to accomplish, the hype was most definately justified.. best Source mod made thus far!
So.. Xen in time for Christmas? Pretty please?

Ugh dont get me started on how many problems that final teleporter room gave me.

I actually had some problems in the room before, where you had 3 layers of moving platforms you had to navigate in order to hit a button. And at the bottom of the platforms there was some water. I had insane lag spikes in that room which made my fps drop to below 0 (which resulted in me dying 10 times).
The final teleporter room was fine fps wise, it was just hard as fuck

-
Im actually happy to hear it was hard as fuck, that was one of my goals in LC - make it harder than the original.
The bottom reactor room in bm_c3a2g you are talking about is another one of those mystery rooms man. Im not even kidding when I say this but that area of the map has had the most "phantom" bugs I have ever had to deal with. We are talking about bugs that trigger catastrophic FPS level drops on my quad core via physics errors by, are you ready, noclipping out of the room???
I mean I remember first making the platforms and having them either fall out of sync or instantly kill the player every time they jump on it.
Oh and one time hammer thought it would be fucking hilarious to say there was a leak in my map and when I loaded the pointfile, it drew a red line from nothing TO FUCKING NOTHING FOR LIKE A MONTH. It wasnt a brush entity origin or anything way outside the or ANYTHING. It just did that for a few weeks and I had to work on other maps. I think copying the contents of the .vmf into a new file worked or something? Fucking source dude
-
That leak problem happened to me a thousand times on my cs 1.6 maps
