missing scripts for me (#BMS_Intro_text etc) and just had my first engine crash! but been playing for at least an hour so fair play.

love the attention to detail, and it really brings back some great memories without straying too far from the original half-life. however i would have personally gone for a completely different look rather than just up-res-ing and beautifying HL1 levels. would be nice to see a completely new take on the BM facility, something to really stand shoulder to shoulder with Aperture labs.

that aside, this is enjoyable, very much so.

For me it's quite the opposite. I'm glad that didn't stray too far. I want it as 'pure' as possible but of course with all the shiny new things!

I could go on and on about how phenomenal this mod is. But it's easier to conclude in a simple sentence. After 2 hours of playing I can only say this: It was worth the fucking wait!

Far from perfect, but much more impressive than I expected thus far. I'm just getting rolling on the main game after everything went to shit in the test chamber, can't wait to enjoy the rest of the ride.

If they went the way Rick described, nobody would be playing it right now, not even the devs.

Just reached "We Got Hostiles". Really love how different it often is from the original game, yet how it always manages to bring it back to some of the key locations and moments you remember from the original.

The bit with the corridors after the accident where you used to get the crowbar, really liked that you suddenly were dependant on the security guard and flares for the first while, mixed it up in a neat way

. Looks a little rough here and there, but overall I'm really impressed by it so far, way better than anybody could have hoped for.

I've encountered a design flaw: if you kill that scientist that opens that room with the pistol, there's no way to get in there (or is there? I didn't find any).

Anyway, I'm really liking this mod! It's feeling really nostalgic. I didn't leave Black Mesa yet, though.

    There's lots of eastereggs:

    - Pay attention to Freeman's locker in the dressing-room after the incident - baby photo.

    - Black Mesa computers have Mozzila Firefox icon in the desktop (yay)

    - There's a funny yellow and blue mug with some dudes on it saying something that I cannot remember.

The mug has the chuckle brothers on it. Its amazing.

The mod is great, love the fact that you redesigned sections and greatly improved them. Got a crash loading the level after we've got hostiles though, will continue tomorrow.

The game just gets better and better as it goes on. Probably my main critique would be the sounds (the monsters really aren't very noisy or scary) and the HL1 levels themselves, they are confusing at times and require a lot of backtracking. Such impressive visuals and scripting though, really impressively realized.

reached On A Rail, which has always been the shittiest Half-Life Level but I'm enjoying it so far. Overall its pretty amazing and feels true to the original and new at the same time. And it does a hell of a good job, highlighting why Half-Life had so much influence on the modern Shooters.

Tiny nitpicks: The Zombie Sounds sound like some screaming in front of the mirror and the MP5 Animation and Sound Design doesn't feel so solid. My favorite MP5 is still the one from Counter Strike Source, which I think would have done the job better in terms of providing fun feedback. And last nitpick: The small dialog snippets aren't loud enough - I kept pushing the sound up whenever someone talked and then pushing it down again as soon as someone fired a weapon.

None the less: great experience so far, outdone all my expectations!
