I heard I had to play the first in order to play the second :S

3Dnj, just curious, did you played the first one to claim that?

I really enjoyed the first one, great platformer, great shooter and very enjoyable puzzles now and then trhough out the game. The best thing is the ambiance as well, the environments are very exotic and not something you'd wanna miss out. I mean, I know that Uncharted2 is a VERY good game, and last years game of the year, but that doesn't mean Uncharted1 is not a fucking good game as well.

Yes, I bought both of them in the same time. I wanted to start by the first because I hate playing episode in the wrong order.

But I haven't finish the first one because it's too boring. I stop

and when I saw that, I just realise that the game sucks since

grrr waiting until Nov next year. Sigh.

As for Uncharted and Uncharted 2, the first is definitely not as good as the second but if you have a PS3 it's worth a rental or else you can buy it cheap now anyway. The second game is a must play for sure.

Very underwhelmed by that trailer.. I mean it's nicely done but the gameplay footage was pointless since it showed absolutely nothing, guess they're still in early stages.

Btw Uncharted 1 is definately inferior to the second but it's still a good game and it helps to paint a picture of the person Drake is, plus Walter's in it a lot more, he doesn't have much of a role in the second in comparison.

Agreed about being underwhelmed by the trailer (it's only a teaser) but for this series I can cut it slack (for now...)

The characters are half the reason why I like the series and Naughty Dog / Sony knows the core Uncharted fanbase understands this appeal. So they are just teasing us because they know they can get away with it, even if we are a little disappointed right now. All it does is put the pressure on them to really deliver, such as at GDC, E3 etc. in 2011.

Well it's just a cinematic teaser, gameplay footage looks like it's going to be more of the same.

Woa, living under a rock are we?

Uncharted is probably the best PS3 exclusive franchise, It's a Naughty Dog game and they only develop games for playstation.

Uncharted 2 won shitloads of GOTY awards, and Uncharted 1 was the game that made me buy a PS3 along with MGS4 in the first place.

And Naughty Dog has been a property of Sony since 2004, so expecting to see ND games anywhere else than on the PS consoles is just living in candy land

Ah man, Uncharted 2. There's no one stand-out gimmick or anything like that which makes it great — it simply excels in every single way. Literally everything from the script to the music to the graphics to the audio to the (action-stealth) gameplay is absolutely spot-on in every conceivable way and results in an overall experience that I still consider the absolute pinnacle of this generation.

To be honest its biggest strengths are probably its excellent story, characters, and wit. Even without the other elements being as good as they are, those still make it an incredibly engaging experience from start to finish. I couldn't put the bastard down when I was playing it.

Really, just play it and you'll see that it deserves its near-perfect review scores. Even if you don't have a PS3 and just just get a cheap one in the future, missing out on Uncharted 2 is like missing out on Half-Life or some shit. It's one of gaming's prime achievements, an example of everything the medium can currently be.

The two main trailers give an indication of the game's writing/presentation strength:

    Bwahaha, Thrik the gangsta!

New gameplay looks cool, the burning mansion reminds me of Tomb Raider Underworld, it's brilliant the way Drake gets his foot stuck and you have to fight the bad guys without being able to move!

Wasnt at all impressed by the gameplay. I can understand all the buggyness, but it looks like uncharted 1. The foot stuck idea was cool, but when u have 2 NPC's firing AK's at u from close range missing every shot, really makes it look to easy. I know its early, but Im not going to add to the hype machine

You guys are also devs, you should know that this stuff is probably pre-alpha, and the AI was on easy and the player was probably on god mode too.

Wasn't very impressed with what I've seen there either, but hey...

Well, let's not go crazy. Uncharted is cinematic awesomesauce, with great characters, compelling story, the best action set-pieces ever, and the target game of anyone looking to create a linear roller-coaster narrative or whatever. But the underlying cover shooter is rather dry, and the traversal and encounter design places a bit too much reliance on the frequent checkpoints.

uncharted 2 is my second favorite game of all time right after god of war 2 followed by 6 other sony exclusives
