So , after 2 months of working on that baby, i can release a first RC of my last q3 project.

Its a medium sized Q3 DM Arena that uses Cellshading.

You can download it here: http://home.arcor.de/rozzo/q3_trueblue.pk3 Download

(If DL doesnt work , i exceeded my bandwith limit. But if you like the map , feel free to add a mirror

Looks like XIII. I like it!

Especially the warp core (I don't know any other term for this...) is very well done.

are the black lines dynamic? do they change the edge theyre on based on where youre looking from?

They are added while compiling through -vis and are (in)visible according to the players view on a brush!

Just tested it and it looks awesome ingame. Really good job

But I think that some of the textures are missing, I took a shot:

No it's not. Look at the photos. Cell shaded is a unique look where there are solid colors with 1-3 different solid shades for shadows & highlights, no GRADIENTS, on top of the black edges from any angle. Did he actually get the black edges from any angle look? If so thats awesome, but I sitll see gradients which is why I said nay.

I understand what he's saying, and he's right. It's not real cell-shading. I've not actually looked into it, but from what i can see, it's basically a patch mesh over the top of the brush or whatever, but inverted and textured black. hence you can only see it from a certain angle and not head-on. i could be wrong of course, but i think that's what actually happens.
