I'm with HP on this one. Bioshock 2 was bit of a train-wreck storywise, and story is such an integral part of the Bioshock DNA that you can't ignore it.

lets all argue taste. let pogop say he enjoyed the second more, your opinion is not more valid.
personally i enjoyed both games for what they were, and i'm going to leave it at that.

But PogoP is a troll that is always wrong.

i liked b2 alot ... since i played it on xbox360 and b1 on a shitty pc i actualy had a better time with b2 than 1

The second had nice combat, but was an unnecessary sequel. It was for all intensive purposes a cash in. But it certainly wasn't terrible though - just dumb.
-
Sad news but if it makes the game better, by all means.
Never got around to finishing bioshock 2. As much as I loved the first bioshock, I had enough of rapture for an entirely second game.
-
Late to the party with 2, I played it about a year after it came out - expecting it to be really bad. It was actually really really enjoyable!
They tried to take small gameplay steps forward, I absolutely loved the Big Sister fights and the Defend gameplay of gathering, setting traps and whatnot. There were some killer maps, the Museum and
QuotePlaying as a Little Sister
come to mind.
There were also some awful maps later on which - moreso visually than gameplay-wise - just weren't up to par and felt rushed (Dionosys Park, I think?).
I also didn't think the story was anywhere near as bad as people say, it was just in a better story's shadow. Lamb's whole story became more and more interesting but always felt like a tacked-on sidestory to Andrew Ryan's main event.
MP also felt unnecessary - I can't remember who said it, but if you have a 20-30 hour SP campaign you don't need MP. If your SP is 5 hours, then your MP better be good.

I played a few hours and it was more fun than I thought it would be, but I got frustrated by higher-level players being able to easily dominate moreso through the parks/Plasmids they had than what I perceived to be skill. But, like I said, it was a year or so after release that I played, so maybe the matchmaking was screwed because of fewer active players.

The bloom is absolutely hideous.
But the rest of the trailer is fantastic !

And it's good to see a trailer made with gameplay and not only cinematic and drama.
-
I'm really liking the look of this world. In trailers it's a bit much to take in, but I'm sure once you start walking around it and instead of music there's just the atmosphere of the environment it'll feel awesome. BioShock had one of the most well-realised and immersive settings I've ever experienced, joining the ranks of Black Mesa and Shadow Moses Island — seems there's definitely a link between isolation and my favourite game worlds. Really hope this sequel recaptures that magic.

-
I'm a bit concerned that a lot of the profundity of the first game is being traded for something people will find "easier to digest." Instead of spooky hallways, we get bright skies, etc. Instead of isolation, there is a really blatant love-interest. Art deco, versus a more bland style architecturally. I guess its easy for me to see some of the changes as moves suggested by those trying to market the game, which sometimes when you try to do that, backfires big time... Combine that with the more "rock and roll" tone of the trailers, and this seems like a bold but still very odd move for the series.
Hopefully it's still the same once we get to play it, Bioshock 1 is a true classic.

I don't want to look at ANY video of this game !!! Beats the spoils !!!
-
BUMP! This will be out in 3 months! Vivi and Furyo must be working their asses off while we wait impatiently.
Also, BioShock Infinite won't have multiplayer, good.
