when they had medics in MP they were OP... I mean crazy OP with stimpack marauders were just killing everything. So they swapped them for the Medivac which was a little more spendy and did not require the tech reactor in the starport.

Ok, good point I didnt really use Marauders in SP for some strange reason

marauders, at first glance, looks like a unit that is kind of like an upgraded marine. And why would you use that when you got the trusty marine at your side?

The awesome thing with marauders is their slow ability, this together with stim pack makes it a real badass threat. Plus the fact that it slaughters stalkers (the new protoss dragoon-wannabe) and the zerg roaches makes it something you cant NOT use in multiplayer =)

I owned up single player by just spamming out 50 marines and 10 medics, stim packing them and just steam rolling anything in my way. Marauders with concussive shells are mandatory in mp though.

I heard from a friend who is more into the RTS scene than me, that Zerg are imba, Protoss come in second and Terran are the weakest race. I've tried all three races in mp, but I've had most success with Terrans. I love banshees. 8 of them, cloaked (!), can be enough to infiltrate the enemy base and make it go up in flames. Add Vikings to counter air units. I try this ~15 mins into the game. Of course enough defence towers would shatter this tactic, but many players forget to build them all around their base. Anyway, maybe Terran is actually for n00bz and I get destroyed when I quit playing practice matches and play in a league, I've had a taste of what's possible with Zerg, when you leave your opponent enough space to expand/ressources to gather...in any case, watch replays. That's how I learn from others.

Also, watch your own replays (it saves them automatically after each match), then you can see what your opponent was doing and figure out why you lost. It gives you some more confidence to attack earlier and such also, since you lose the "oh jeez i only have 2 marines, no way im ready to attack now" state of mind when you can see that your opponent only had SCVs/drones/probes until 90 minutes into the match.

A massive fleet of units from the far end of the tech tree is powerful you say? No way

This must be 1v1 because I still find terran to be rather lacking in 2v2. I mean TTvXX is almost always going to lose, and TXvsXX is going to struggle especially against protoss.

I think the biggest issue with terran in anything but 1v1 is their builds are pretty much the same either way.. They wall themselves in which means they make some early econ sacrifice to build the wall, and they cannot really commit much in the way of a rush because they tend to be a little behind. BUUUT in 1v1 this works well.

Of course. 2 v 2 is just a total CHEESE fest, the game is in no way balanced for anything other than 1 v 1.

Just had my first two beginner matches, won both of em! I forgot how scared I am when I'm playing RTS games online, I just expect to get completely destroyed any second, and when things turn out to go in my favour I usually let my guard down with dire consequences.

Anyway, I'm on a high now

I think the placement matches are actually just Easy AI opponents disguised as players. Just a hunch. Things change post placement.

I do not think that is 100% true, I am sure they will address the terran lacking in anything but 1v1 at some point

at one point in the beta TT vs XX was so imbalanced because two terrans steamrolled everything with their marine+marauder semi-early rush combo. (You had to attack right before a potential tank or collosus got made, z had no chance whatever they did).

I think its pretty universal atleast those who I have talked would say TT is just a waste of a team LOL You really do not see a lot of 2v2 teams that are TT and win a lot. I mean all you needed was Zx to beat a TT team in the beg of the beta, as they had yet to nerf the crap out of roaches which where just raping T. I mean we saw numbers that showed that in most cases TT or T anything for that matter both in 1v1 and 2v2 were just getting raped.

The other issue with T atleast for a period of time, not so much now was cost for econ. In looking at numbers you would see that in order for the T to really get his econ moving for the macro game it was costing them almost double the amount of minerals compared to Z and P. This is why we saw things like build times and unit costs cut for a lot of T units during the beta.
