Yes, excellent news.
Shame the world of Brutal Legend is now closed, but then I'd rather see new stuff.
Still have to play Brutal Legend ![]()
So was Brutal Legend a failure or not? Did it sell well? People seemed mixed about it.
I think this topic title fits what has happened the last couple of days.
First theres twitter-stuff about notch and tim maybe gonna develop the new psychonauts and now double fine is gonna make a new game they've named double fine adventure with our money! ![]()
YOSH~~instant backing~~
I've never been interested in a Double Fine game. ![]()
So badass than in under 12 hours they've pretty much hit their initial budget~~~
400K! w00tz0rz
i herd notch is gonna fund psychonauts 2
Yeah that's awesome. Even if you've not been interested in Double Fine's games, check out the adventure game project (or at least the video):
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/667 ... -adventure
An adventure game by Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert (bear in mind these guys made the original Monkey Islands and Grim Fandango) with Double Fine's tech and production values is definitely something that turns me on in many ways.
Pledged my $15 as any excess goes into polishing the game even more. ![]()
Now, anyone bought

I bet Psychonauts 2, if it actually goes anywhere, will be co-financed by this kind of initiative. Personally I think that would be cooler than Notch funding the entire thing, at least when you've got such a passionate community.
It's past 500k now. Anyone interested in taking a bet? 750k is my bet.
I'll laugh if someone like Notch does come along and just drop a million in the fund for shits and giggles. ![]()
And I agree, crowdsourcing like this is an absolutely wonderful way of raising funds for truly original development. I guess it shows just how much reputation matters when it comes to getting the amount you'd like, and the fact people are getting something back for investing in addition to the game itself is a great incentive.
Over $550,000 though what people forget about Kickstarter is the cut they take and then Tax.
Yeah, that's a fair point. I guess the more they get the better as that'll offset those costs, and then extra can go into further production. :derp:
i backed this with a 15 dollar pledge
id back a psychonauts 2 kickstarter with a 150 dollar pledge !
Really like the documentary thing too, going to be well worth backing just for that.
Yeah, really looking forward to seeing it all unfold. Also, you all watched the video? Fucking lol'd. ![]()
