I really like the look of the game, some elements cannot be seen clearly from the game world but other than that very good.

I'm still turned off by that main character. I think it doesn't fit the theme at all. I'd really like to play with some bearded fat pirate in that goofy and soft looking world. Right now it just feels so out of place with the anime look.

Still love the game, I think you nailed the responsiveness of the controls. My gripe at this point comes from the preview unity web browser, which does not limit the movements of the mouse to the game window, so everytime I venture too far out I get out of game...very frustrating to get a proper flow.

I'll have to echo skdr's comments about the lead character, she seems very bland compared to the coolness of the cat sidekick, but maybe you guys expand on her own story and abilities later on... Just feels like she's stock in an awesome world of awesome creatures. Makes me wish I'd be the other guys

I'll begin by saying that this kind of game is not my kind of game. Having said that, I gave the game a go and I think it looked really good and I actually liked the way it played! It had a very pretty and consistent style (from what I saw) and it looks very handcrafted (as opposed to the engine "making things look good for you"). I loved the manoeuvrability of the main char and the VERY nice responsive movement and combat.

Thumbs up guys, I wish you all the best.

I also agree with skdr and Furyo, I really like the game but the main character seems awfully bland to me as well. It seems like most things have come so far now that it's sticking more and more out now. I'd actually like the idea of playing a nasty bearded pirate, from what I've played it's surprisingly few pirate games where you do that, but I guess changing the main character to that degree would be a pretty drastic measure

Wow, just played the demo and I love the art in this game. Feels very Wind Waker esque, nice work!

Our main problem is that we dont have an animator, and warby is stressed enough as it is so making cut-scene stuff where you get to know the character is not something we've managed to focus on.

With that said, if anyone knows a fucking brilliant character animator that uses maya then let us know.

Great production values and I love the lushness of all the environments. Still feels a bit floaty from being a Unity platformer.

That said, you guys really need to get a writer on-board to do a pass on your dialogue and sign text. This could all be so much more charming if you had someone workshop your words. All the characters talk the same, and in general it's just way too many words. She doesn't talk like a teenager. The talking cat professor kinda talks like a professor -- well, a bad professor whose class everyone skips.

We had someone do a pass on the dialogue and sign text. Maybe not a good enough writer?

The characters convey what they want to say but not with any real... character. Although, I think the main problem with the dialogue is it's much longer than it needs to be and I found myself doing the normal gamer thing where I scan for key words before it closes.

The actual gameplay stuff is much nicer than what I played before! Anna, or however you spell it, moves a lot nicer now. The combat could be a bit better but I'm a combat snob and it certainly works.

    - I think you need character portraits, because usually the player model is standing right in front of them and I can't see who's talking.

    - Use fewer words. Use colored text. Do what Zelda does, basically.

I agree that the graphics are nice and the gameplay works for the most part, but the characters really don't work (for me!!). I was a bit embarrassed to play it at work, since other people could see my screen, haha.

Regarding not having the budget or time to do cutscenes to do "character introductions", what about posing the models and then doing paintovers, so you have narrated/written storyboards? Like that other game I can't think of right now.

agree with insta. great game, bit weird main character. i think the idea for the character works but the proportions and animations dont get across quite right. obviously this is nitpicking on a game that's already so advanced and good fun to play!
