    omg yes. I would rather have played a docks level than drive around for hours on end being bored off my ass. One vehicle level was enough, two was beating a dead horse.

    If you want a pretty good accounting of what happened between the E3 Tech Demo and the final release, read that article by Gamespot. It's pretty long, but gives you a good feeling about what it took to get the game out.

    The boat was chopped because it was part of a completely alternate storyline, in which Gordon sails to C17, with the ship being beset by Combine forces during the trip.

    The docks was just a proof-of-concept, along with all the stuff you saw during E3 2003. The Gamespot 'Making Of HL2' article goes into much greater detail.

    almost all of those fucking bink movies that were released via steam didnt exist in the game. i hate valve ( i love valve).
