Sorry guys, I'll have to delay the playtest for about a month, cause I've been contracted for that period and I haven't got the time to prepare it for you to test. I hope you don't mind

So, I've finally managed to settle down and work on this project. I've got the test prototype almost ready, just needs to put it into an installer and check if it works.

3dnj & e-freak, you guys still up to test this? Anybody else willing to give it a go? It's quite short so it shouldn't take an hour to go through it.

I'd be quite happy to give this a play through for you. Will have to dust off my copy of Crysis first though.

I really like how the vegetation looks. Never imagined that people will do such great stuff with my poor and crappy tree packs.

Maybe you want to use a blurred light projector on the lamp screenshot. The shadows are very sharp and it ruins the scene a bit. But maybe you changed it Didnt read the whole thread.

Thanks, your vegetation packs were a big help indeed, couldn't have done it without them!

About the shadows, it's a tricky bit. You'll notice if you look intently that the light doesn't actually come from above but from around the middle of the cave, thus the light on the bottom of the rails and stuff like that. In my experience, projectors can only work with spotlights pointing in a particular direction, not affect the look an omni light entity, so to be able to use the projector (and unless there's some trick to get it working in all directions, cause the tickbox "ProjectInAllDirs" doesn't change a thing), I'd have to go back to the normal position for the light, coming from the top, and I think I prefer the one in place even though it's a trick and pretty unrealistic.

Here's what it looks like now:

Here's what it'd look like with a projector from above instead of the middle-height light source:

    What do you think?

DOH! I feel pretty stupid right now.

In that shot, I just removed the shadows from the lamp model itself, thought it looked better. The same problem applies too if I wanna use a projector, it'd only point toward the ground and not affect anything around that cone.

Hehe, I believe that's actually one of the smoothest areas of the level, cause it's circled by cliffs I was able to hide almost everything else in the level while you're in there

    Thanks for the comments guys!

One of my favorite parts, and a good framerate (I didn't notice any framerate issue btw.)

Dude. Sorry for not testing. I'm still in my personal kind of crunch. Anyway: Great release once more. Now get your Portfolio wrapped up and come here! By now you're like the only capable Mod-LD in the whole Cry Community I guess
