I've had Dead Space in my Steam list for eons, yet never been even close to finish it ... maybe I should :C
About 5 hours into it, absolutely love it! Really thrilled that this time around they take the time to build up some really unnerving and tense situations and actually keep their finger off the "just spawn more monsters" button once in a while. The pacing is just so much better than in the first game. Also some seriously brilliant semi-cutscenes where you have control of the aim. Just hope they can keep this up for the rest of the game~~
Finished it earlier. Apart from the story falling a bit flat for me, then I absolutely love this game. Without a doubt one of the coolest sci-fi games to date and on pretty much every level it seems like this is the game that the first one should have been.
Still haven't checked out the multiplayer, don't really have that high expectations after most reviews having bashed it. Did start over on the single player though ![]()
I bought it on Amazon, i will receive it Thursday. Can't wait ! ![]()
Now this is pure awesome;

QuoteDead Space 2 fan Ashley P. found herself at a most unfortunate situation a few days ago. While destroying some necromorphs in Dead Space 2, her dog decided he wanted to play as well, or maybe he was just terrified by the Xbox’s fan. Either way, the dog knocked over poor Ashley’s Xbox, causing her copy of Dead Space 2 to be slaughtered by the Xbox’s innards. Her immediate reaction was to run screaming (digitally) on Twitter to who ever listened. By luck of fate, or an appropriate mention, Visceral heard her cries and sent her an amazing package. Ashley received a signed copy of Dead Space 2 as well as a caricature of Isaac and her little dog.
Visceral are officially top dogs ![]()

Some great environment concept art from the game: http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=207778
Yeah, I saw that at work, i really love them.
Hardcore Mode has some really terrible design decisions, like the super long unskippable intro cutscene without even a courtesy checkpoint afterwards. I put in three tries, three times having to rewatch that cutscene. In the end I got to the conduit room with the hacker suit, in the middle of chapter 2 (there's a hack to open up the conduit rooms on PC, because normally they're unavailable because they're tied to Dead Space Ignition, which isn't on PC) I shot one of the exploding arm guys from like 20 feet away and the explosion somehow from that distance managed to instakill me from near full health.
Just finished episode 10, the fan boy i'am love it ![]()
Things I really like in this game, all necromorph and weapon from the first one are there and news one give a lot to the game.
Especially this necromorph which is really violent and stressful.
I am very excited about the story in it, because at the end of the first Dead Space, Isaac discovers that he has alienated (what he did see visions of his wife to run and try to help when in fact committed suicide three hours before Isaac presented) I have curiosity to know what happens in the second rope holding Isaac.
