I found the first Thief to be the most scariest. Didn't found the other two half as scary but maybe because i was older and already used to the atmosphere/gameplay of the series.

Same here, but I think that's more a result of me just being way younger back and got scared much more easily back when it came out. But hell, even the last time I played the original Thief (Which was about 2 years ago), I got chills playing the Mines and the Cathedral, but I figure that was also a bit of nostalgia mixed in~

Even though Thief 2 came out fairly close to the first game, then I never really got scared from it, but man it was awesome. System Shock 2 is actually also surprisingly creepy to this day, fucking amazing audio in that game.

It did kind of bum me out that Dead Space was all about shocks, and rarely even tried to creep you out, and when it did it never really worked on me. Still good stuff tho, good to see that they're giving it another chance, even with the somewhat disappointing initial sales of the first one.

Playing scary music before an enemy shows up on screen ruins your scary moment.

During a recent play through, I realized they weren't actually doing this most of the time. The scary music would play when you got a monster in your field of view. If you turned away, it would stop until you looked at them again. The really fucked up part is when they would do that but no monster was there.

I have Dead Space on PS3, but I'm still playing other games atm, what I can see looks like more of the same which isn't necessarily a bad thing!

I totally like it, except the sometimes to chaotic moments. You can't really see what is going on then.

Walking around the freezer rooms I didn't know if I'd gotten lost, it was trying to do some clever hallucination thing, or they had copied and pasted the same room 5 times. Still, I liked the original and it looks like more of the same. Pinning babies to the wall and tazing them is harmless fun, after all.

Yeah, had exactly the same reaction, felt like a very weird bit to start a demo with. I liked the demo tho, looking forward to it.

I tried to play Dead Space on Steam last night but it was very frustrating. Next to Borderlands this must be the worst console port ever. The FOV is horribly narrow and the mouse is super laggy. I'm playing with the Xbox Controller, which is much better than WASD + Mouse, but I gave up after 10 minutes or so into the game. The FOV gives me nausea :/

Such a shame, it looks like a great game and has some really great materials.

I didnt like the first dead space. I played it for about an hour, but had to close it down because I was getting so frustrated with the controls.
