But I'm not sure about that wood plank..

The huge wooden plank is going to be replaced , and I havn't put much effort in detail props yet (since it's WIP).

    Thumbs up.

Oh, and the large plank is staple Bounce, it can't be changed!

no, doesn't look like bounce to me!

of course, if this map is for Valve's mapping contest the mapper has no choice...he's not able to use other rock textures than the ones given.

but for me bounce is much more red!11

this is not an appropriate remake in the current state imho

    Remake doesn't mean rip..

It can be a bit different, as long as the main things are the same.

    Thats atleast what I think.

mmh well, but the main things dont have to be the brushwork...

okay, I'll correct my comment: It is a nice looking wip and it may be fun as hell

but for me there are too few connections to the original bounce.

A Model of a blinky blue polished Hightech Console thingy in a ruined bunker?

That makes me think of noobs , thinking a shit looking map could become beautyfull if stuffed with nice prefabs!

That u aren`t a noob , is proved by most of the other pics that look quite good.

My advice to u : If this map is made as an entry to the HL2DM Comp of Valve , don`t just remake it , but even try to improve it with new ( better ) gameplay!

It always sounds better and makes it more interesting when you add new rooms and possibilities.I don`t think a pure remake can win ( no matter how nice it`s done ).

He can't enter it into the Valve comp. because it isn't an original entry.

    1. The props and stuff you define as "noob" is most likely going to be changed/moved/deleted, I just smacked it in there for a moment . The map is not done yet, so plenty of stuff will change.

    2. This is NOT for the contest, but I believe plenty of servers and players like to use classic/custom maps. sv_downloadurl really helps
