Arkham Asylum also picks up best gameplay. Uncharted 2 picks up best action game, best original score, best story, best use of audio. L4D2 gets best multiplayer game.

At least it wasn't a total runaway like last year with CoD4, I'd expected Uncharted 2 to squeeze it though.

Indeed! Definitely was GOTY for me. I've yet to try UC2 though, since no PS3 =(. Soon though, maybe!

I like batman, still need to finish it though.

But nothing beats uncharted2. Easily the best game I played last year.

Batman ended up being one of the best games from last year for me, but nothing came close to Uncharted 2.

I can see how that deserves an award for gameplay, they tried a lot of stuff in the game and succeed with most of it.

Like people said though, it's got absolutely nothing on Uncharted 2 for overall game of the year.

Yeah, I'm on the same page, great game, but I was looking for a linear experience and not a hub, so I never finished it either. All of the character development was top notch. Just wished I didnt have to keep running back and forth through the same corridors and exteriors all of the time. I would have enjoyed being spoon feed

I finished AA and it was pretty much linear tbh.

There's an illusion of 'open-endness/sandboxness' however, because of the outside arkham area that you can explore freely (in theory).

    The game is linear, still.
