Beat the single player campaign. Steam says my total play time, with one run each of coop and single player, is 13.2 hours. And people were complaining that the game was short? The unrealistic, overly critical demands some people seem determined to put on this game, as far as I can tell as retribution to not getting free games they already owned or not getting the game earlier or something, is ridiculous. Apparently people are complaining about the "Don't turn off your console" message that's in the game, neglecting to mention that that only appears if you use the manual menu save option, which is there pretty much specifically for the benefit of people on a gamepad without a quicksave button handy, and that it was barely even visible enough for me to register the words were there when I looked at it.

IMO, this is absolutely Valve's best work yet. I fucking loved it. Might do a dev commentary run tonight, I missed some achievements so I'm definitely going to do another run (not sure which mode) tomorrow.

    Finished SP! Loved it!

    Parts I found really interesting:

    Quote

    The old aperture facility.... amazing!

    Quote

Everything after Wheatley has taken control of the facility... humor was off the charts

    Quote

The ending.... really well made. Loved the "WTF?" turret-song hahaha....

    Oh valve...

Super 8 is actually Half Life the movie guys. Gabe paid JJ and Spielberg to do it.

I assume (hope) that valve sticks to it's mantra and keeps DLC free of charge... and release the SDK with the new tools

Portal 2's got a specific DLC store page already, so I doubt it. I'd be totally down for paying, say, $5, give or take, for an extra block of Coop levels or something, though. I doubt they'd be too expensive, Valve's a "low cost high volume" kind of company in most cases.

Valve's not greedy man, they have more money than they know what to do with

Almost finished the coop with a friend. I really wish they had a lan mode since my internet isn't good enough to play online, we ended up using console commands to enable split screen and play using a couple xbox 360 controllers.

Overall its a lot of fun, I'm sure we did some puzzles in ways they aren't meant to be solved, but that's half the fun.

probably the only game i really care about for a few months and I've already managed to get two major plot twists spoiled for me because of idiots and internet. no place is safe from spoilers, not even mapcore. I should have just played the entire thing when it was released.

I also had a major plot point spoiled by our very own "I am angry at valve so I'll spoil the game for my fellow mapcorians"-rick_d.

I can't tell if you've already played (?) but I can assure you, all is not lost. There is a whole lot more to the story then what was spoiled... for me anyway (don't know which spoilers you have faced).

I hate spoilers too and hope you can enjoy portal 2 anyway!

For what it's worth, I exercise an absolute zero-tolerance policy on spoilers for newish games so if this has occurred on the forums let me know and I'll not only delete the posts but temporarily ban those responsible.

(Consider this an opportunity to get deleting your posts if you're stupid enough to have done this!)

haha i don't even know if it was a spoiler but i had it "spoiled" for me by scummy console pirates who got the game early while we sat around like dickheads playing shitty indie games.
