Yeah ! ![]()
if they mix portal graphic style with some foliage infestation, that's could be great. i think because of the news one's ending, the second take place no longer after.
Soooo, Portal's great and all, but is that all they're shipping this year? ![]()
Orange Box 2? ![]()
Some guy on Kotaku posted a very long theory that ends with
"I think it'll be called the Blue Box and it will contain Ep3 as well"
....yeah right
so why does the press release have underlined text everywhere?
edit; it spells out "drattmannh0nee" wtf? ![]()

no way. Valve has said numerous times that Ep3 won't be out this year. Portal 2 is probably gonna be a stand alone product, stand alone price, stand alone length. I'm cool with it.
So... we staring a pool on how many times this gets delayed? Who's in for 2 times? Anybody for a delay that pushes it into next year? ![]()
I don't remember where I read that but yes it will be a stand alone.

Drattmann/h0nee turns out to be a new login/pass for the BBS in the Portal Arg, which reveals images encoded in a proprietary BASIC format, with info on the backup/backup login for how to compile a DOS BASIC program to actually render the images. They turn out to be this:
http://portalwiki.net/index.php/APF_Images
Which pretty much means a) Yeah, it's coop, and b) This is the end of the arg, or, c) It's something else entirely.
Drattmann, identified as Doug Rattmann (creator of the APF format used for those images) is an Aperture employee, and possibly the guy who left those hidden area messages you find in Portal, those are referred to as "Rat holes" in the commentary and the original concept of the game had an NPC named "The Rat Man" who was lost in the enrichment center and kinda batty and was responsible for those hidden areas. Valve cut him after thinking it'd be just as effective and less bothersome to just let the player read the walls without having a dude there acting crazy in front of them.

This'll be great. Can't wait for it.
Oh Finally. I am curious about the multiplayer.

I always assumed it was called the orange box because that was their apparent level design process with orange boxes. Blue box sounds like severe vaginitis.
49.99$?
GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE
Other than that big Love.
Hopefully it won't be 49.99$ for just 3 hours. Would have to be 6 minimum at least I think.
50 for six is ok ?![]()
A few years ago no one would have accepted "just six hours" for 50.
I dont really know what to expect of this. Right now it kind of has the image that it is a small and cute but low budget game, so I wonder how they will counter that and what more big things this will offer beyond coop.
Not really, it's just that it seems to be the norm now for shooter SP games sadly. So, wouldn't be unreasonable to expect 6 hours.
Valve did l4d2 in "as they said" 1 year and it took me, with 3 friends (with whom I play since the release of L4d1) to finish all the five campaign one time more than 12 hours in advanced. So i think in 3 years they can make a game longer than 6 hours.
