are you fucking serious? who the hell wants to live on top of a pillar like that? christ that thing looks so steep i don't think you could drive a truck up it. what do they use for transport when they're doing grocery shopping? helicopters?

maybe safety. or it's a monastery and monks want some peace and quiet surroundings. maybe it's a fortress where they could spot the enemy early, who knows. only thing i'm sure of is that it's older than the invention of the truck

    Bingo.

For fuck's sake Sentura, think a little bit. Seriously though, the monasteries of Meteora are a pretty nice sight.

so you're saying they don't have contact with the outside world? i'm asking how they get up and or down from there, not who they are.

dunno about that exact one but usually it's either a small road for donkeys or sometimes they use lifts (large baskets with ropes... pretty dangerous but who cares).

I mentioned that i have been to Brittany. I really can recommend it for people who love beautiful rustic scenery and cool medievally architecture. Especially the north coast. I think it's the best part of northern France for vacation. Just wouldn't recommend it for people who want to relax on the beach for two weeks. The Atlantic weather seemed a bit too unstable for that. It's more of a place for active people who go hiking, sailing or short trips to nearby towns.

iceland, wintertime. tickets are particularly cheap right now!

i went to iceland last winter, it wasn't even very cold despite the snow, and it's almost completely deserted which is nice.

Been there couple of times as a kid, was really awesome, great food and people. Perfect place for a relaxing beer/food/sun vacation mixed with some cultural buildings.

defo! iceland is just beautiful. I'd probably stay more around the Vik area though or on the eastcoast. Jökulsarlon is pretty grey most of the time
