    Here is another update.

This here is a ropey bridge across a chasm with a river at the bottom.

It is supposed to be a piece of interest. But I feel something is lacking to make it more interesting. Perhaps I have been staring at the damn thing for too long. C&C puh-lease!!!!

nice i like it. I'd probably make the woodplanks for the bridge more orangy so they stand out against the other yellow stuff a bit more...

and have those green dead things hang further down maybe. how many polys is that ?

Guys, you are not helping much at all. You are supposed to say "it needs more skulls hanging somewhere" or something like that!

    Kleinluka:

That is 900 tris. This is not so much a modelling exercise as it is a texturing exercise for me. So the mesh is not really something I am proud of here...

I was thinking originally of doing the wood in a more orangy saturated shade, but taking wind and weather it would soon loose that colour, as wood does. I know it is cartoony, but damn, it is a fine line to thread, because you also need to incorporate references to realism in there, or it just gets out of hand. But the "too much yellowish" issue is something that has been bothering me...

Maybe make some missing planks, along with some that look unstable. Make it look more aged and treacherous

Hooo-kay. Next up is a fir tree. My fist attempt at trees actually. Man all that alpha stuff is hard to get right on the foliage. The bark texture took me a fair while to do, because I didn't just want to make a brown on brown one. Kept trying different things painting wise, that just didn't work out. Anyway, I am proud of the bark as it stands now.

    Bombs away!

    C&C is wanted! NOW!

Good bark, but make the actual leafs look more like leaves instead of a banner wrapped around it.

Yeah. :x How do you do that? :-? Texture geniuses to the rescue!

Hmmm. What it is, is roughly a low poly cone, with another smaller lower polygon cone inside it for another layer or foliage. Thanks for the comment Pericolos0 but I am still puzzled as to how to go about it differently...

You mean giving the vertices a randomizing treatment. Ok sure. But my main issue is more with getting the top texture to mesh with the wrap around one, which I don't think they really do right now, unless seen from very specific angles.

looks beautiful periclois, however if you did some like splitting of the trunk I think you could get some nicer looking trees with some more variation ~

maybe toom uch of a highlight on the center of the shield. Very beautiful though. Great texture and realism in the scratches.

Quite a bunch of nice models&textures following the same style. Good job!

Unless you are planning to use them for real-time rendering you might want to use more polys.
