    Another school project:

This is a cartoony enchanted forest/jungle thing. Just a poor excuse to a lot of 2D painting with greens, blues, purples and yellows.

Modelling/shape style should be something along the lines of Tim Burton meets Bob Rafei (Naughty Dog).

Texturing style should be a mix of your recent Warcraft work and Eni Oken.

Sort of. Of course you learn as you go, and the style also seems to grow and change slightly, or rather focus itself the more you work with it.

C&C is the name of the game, so let it rip!

Here is a quick concept piece for one of the palm trees.

And modelled and rendered with another style of palm tree:

Not sure it is gonna make a map as such. This project is around one third of the ground work I need to carry out some research/theories on colour theory and psychology in level design. But that is another story for another day...

Now that Frie is involved with the Farcry-lads, maybe Monkey Strike 2 can be made on the Farcry-engine

That some nice work there Marque!

The grass is extremly fluorecent though, but that might be intended.

And the twist or sharp bend in the plamtree looks unnatural and is

not to pleasing to my eye, but it might just be me...

the UV stretching is worse imo :/

i don't mind the bend provided EVERY tree in the scene doesn't look like that. i'm not a fan of the grass at all i'm afraid. i really like the style of the tree and that other plant though, the fronds particularly look cool. try to reduce their intersecting.

Okay another object. This is a small plant thingy. Rendered alone it looks more like a palm tree, but think of it as an undergrowth kinda thing. Here is my concept art.

    [Blocked Image: http://www.marquepierre.com/smallplant1copy.jpg]

    And render:

    [Blocked Image: http://www.marquepierre.com/smallplant1.jpg]

Please excuse the fluorescent background. That sunset sky is meant to be cartoony (obviously! ) but need a few tweaks. Just thought my plant looked so lonely, rendered by itself...

    C&C, bring it on!

Another day, another texture. This time it is...

taDAH! Amazon Water Lilys! Those huge ones that can carry the weight of an adult. The water texture is not really finished, just some half concept art/half texture art I put in.
