    even with the commercial model i was certain this thing was destined to be the 3d engine of the future but i now it is inevitable !

    *heart attack*

    for those of you who don't know what the hell this is

    its a very easy to use 3d game engine i have been working with it for roughly a year and i fucking love it !

    /edit: DOH thats what i get for being cocky and thinking i should type something by hand and not use the all mighty ctrl+c and ctrl+v tag team !

    Yea, one step closer to becoming the go-to platform for indie games (at least games that aren't platformers made in gamemaker)

    Very nice! My mod team was looking into that engine already for a couple of months and were already concidering doing some indie work in it and now that it's going to be free !

    nice!

    Also, you gave the wrong link Warby, it's .com, not .org;

    Woah cool free? seriously what's the catch? Do you have to pay them still for commercial use? Some of their demos are really impressive

    the catch is the indie version doesn't have post filters or dynamic shadows ( which are way too slow to use anyway ) only the pro verison has those "advanced " features

    but you can totally do commercial products with indie hundreds of people do that already !

    i mailed the guys at unity and evaluated the pro version ... and ended up buying the indie version ^^

    !!!! I just bought the Indie license last week! I've got to decide to take the discount on the pro or iphone version now, although I'm leaning towards the iphone, as the features you get from the Pro aren't really what I'd be focusing on for development with Unity I don't think, getting shadows and a few other things doesn't seem to be worth the cost.

    This is fantastic news indeed! I've been a fan of Unity ever since their CEO gladly took over my horrible code base at 4 O'clock in the middle of the night and had all the bugs fixed by the time the sun was up

    Working with this engine/tool, wish the level design part was a bit better but its great for a newbie programmer like me to start with, plenty of documentation and helpfull community.

    I upgraded to the iPhone license and bought an iPod touch. It didn't take too long to get everything set up, and now I've got some simple tests running It sucks that the editor for the iphone version isn't updated to the 2.6 editor though.
