I played the demo, it was fun, looked great and so on, however, it's basically WoW with a paintjob.

To be honest it has more in common with Lineage II or Dark Age of Camelot. I'm on Castor. Asmodian Assassin called Buster. I'm enjoying it so far but I'm trying not to play it too much... I'll probably have more to say when I get into the PvPvM Abyss.

dude no, the only thing it has in common with daoc is the class specialization. there are still only two sides, which means that pvp is still going to suck... which again means the game isn't worth playing.

And it's running on CryEngine1!

I played a weekend long closed beta event not to far back and I wasnt impresssed. I couldn't for the life of me understand why people can even compare this to WoW, they've even managed to make the cry engine look bad.

It's more like RvR than the instanced, cross-server battlegrounds of WoW.

I don't know what PvP is like and I would prefer three sides. But I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt for now, at the very least the classes and skills are better designed for PvP than most.

I might have come off a bit negative there, dont get me wrong; its a game worthy of the 50$ i payed for it, its just not... as good as wow.

I got to play the game in the final stages just before beta but I didn't get enough time to get to the flight part and was curious what people thought of that. Aside from attempting to be the "East meets West MMO" in-flight combat was supposed to one of the main hooks.

So...anyone have anything to say about the flight aspect yet?

me and a few buddies just started playing it again, come into our vent and let's fucking slay some boars.

we have a healer, a tank, and a dps, so we are all set to go through the instances and dungeons without waiting around for fagets.

we are on Fury, and currently we are all lvl 16 (not for long!)

The game's alright actually. Flying's a breeze, but gliding is a bit trickier.

I haven´t played very much yet because of my long work times but i like it so far, i´ma lvl 13 templar.

And, imo, flying is awesome

Did some accidental PvP today, a quest dumped me in Elyos' land up somewhere safe with the quest thinking I would teleport back. Instead I jumped off, glided down, landed in a circle of about 8 people, hit hide and ran away scared because they all said “??” as level. Then I realised they must all say that and looked for someone to hit. The guy I eventually opened on ran into mobs at my unexpected appearance on his spinal column but then, in true MMO style, I got clustered.

I hear in Cataclysm you'll be able to raid with 2 people and every NPC will have its own faction to get exalted with.

Yep, that's the cryengine 1 I remember from when I first bought FarCry and my graphics card wasn't up to snuff... Although I don't think mine was that bad, but different games
