Battlefield 1942... oh how I miss thee. Hopefully this will truly make the series shine. That gameplay video looked amazing, and not to mention those have got to be some of the best sound effects I have heard for a video game in a long time.

    You know what I hate?

Running around picking things up in an online shooter.

I don't want to spawn with no guns, I don't want to have to hunt down medipacks. Fuck you, give me everything at once.

Yeah I enjoyed the old way that games did things. But I enjoyed them then. Can we as an industry move forward and at least TRY some new ideas instead of shitting on them from the start.

I never noticed anything wrong with CoD4's regenerating health. But then I play on hardcore servers where the game is actually fun. And surviving a firefight comes down to not getting hit in the first place.

Remember in thos eold realism shooters where getting hit made you move really slow, or fucked up your aim. And you sat there bleeding to death praying you could die so you would respawn with a fresh dude? Yeah that was bullshit and it's a good thing that shit is dying out. If it's not fun then fucking get rid of it.

Uh, Rick, did I read that wrong or did you just hate all the haters for saying that regenerative health is bad and defend it by saying you played on hardcore servers (were you got killed by 1 shot anyways).

Hey I never said I was not a hypocrite.

Just that I won't avoid a game because of regenerating health. Same as I won't avoid a game because it stars a bald space marine. The game itself might be fantastic, regardless of some of the mechanics they've used.

I'm also not saying I'm right., it's just my opinion

I'm not a fan of regen in most games, either. I like rollin' with my squad in BF2 and having to stick together so I can get ammo/health

It looks so good. Goddamn it.

If the world knew better this is the game that would be selling 12+ million units. PC version 40 players + dedicated servers + prone. DICE.

Looks great! Really love that they've finally embraced the fact that BF2 was their best game and tried to make something like that for the consoles. One of my main beefs with the first BC was that the shooting felt pretty unsatisfying, but from the looks of that video it looks like it has a pretty punchy feel to it, nice.

I love the sound effects and the way that everything seems to affect the way you hear every sound. Looks fantastic too. Do want!

Looks great. I had tons of fun on BF2 but they have yet to bring that magic with the other titles they put out after it.

I didn't like the four man squad stuff they had in BC1 or that you could spawn on any squad member. I hope they use the BF2 squad stuff instead.

Funny they are putting out a PS3 demo after all the press they did recently to appease the PC crowd.

The sound the engine (Frostbite) delivers is something that still amazes me, making me watch videos or streams of BC1 just to hear it. Can't wait to experience an updated Frostbite Engine (if that's what they are still using) on PC.

I never played the MP in BF:BC - purely because it was console only - but the single player was a masterpiece for what it was trying to do, not too serious, not too over the top, but just beautiful gameplay. If they can carry that style over into the MP then they definately have a winner.

I enjoyed BF2 but god damn did it have some fuck-annoying features.

Personally I think the Desert Combat mod for BF1942 was the last great pinnacle

agreed on desert combat. helicopter flying was perfected in that mod. the learning curve was steep but you had so much more control than the fluff that passes recently.
