Skybox around the whole map is not a good idea to seal it.

True, but it works well when you just are doing a test-compile which mike probbly had in mind

Mike, that room is too small for DM I'd say.

Even if it's just a corridor, people want to be able to move from side to side.

    hehe, unlucky

I mean, When you use gordon, all it does is cut the exterior away IF you save it to .map... Not sure of how it works with Hl2, but i guess its the same^^

Its a great tool... (If its the one im thinking about lol)

stairs are the #1 polycount increaser when built with bsp brushes. Make them models.

    I know this.

I work with placeholders, I will convert some detail to models later, there is no reason to convert them all.

Only if you mean default Radiant, which is utterly crap. GTK Radiant is like a more stable Hammer with patch meshes and better vertex editing. I do hope it'll have Quake 4 support down the line.

so wait that is not made with patch meshes or something? ;o all brushes?

Ofc I have, its just the stairs that is made from brushes, they are not easily made with patches, better doing them as brushes and then replace them with models if necessary.

It already supports Doom 3, so Q4 is inevitable.
