Still very much a WIP. I have a lot more to show but I'm going to wait. As you can see I redid the tree models. Going to work on lighting some more. I have a lot of texturing to do for all the models. I redid the terrain to save some more polygons (you dont see that version yet) so I'll be spending those on odds and ends to improve the ambience. I have a clear vision of where I want to take this so I'm just showing you guys what I'm working on in my free time. Hope you enjoy.

Looking sweet. How are you liking UnrealEd compared to Hammer?
-
Hammer:
Pros:
Easy BSP Manipulation/VertexManip
Texture Application Tools
Cons:
Reliance on BSP Brushes
Inability to add custom Materials
So User Friendly, I find you lose the ability to do advanced thigns
UnrealEd:
Pros:
Two clicks to Add Static Meshes
Two Clicks to add Textures
Easy Shader Creation, In Editor, Real Time Preview
Real Time Lighting
Awesome Terrain Tools
Easy Access to Occlution and Area Portals
Cons:
BSP Brushes are NOT as easy to work with as in Hammer
Texturing is a Pain in the Ass for me in this program, as I'm used to Hammer
I dislike the lighting, but thats slightly more the engine. I have also not worked with it long enough to make a good judgement on it.

I found bsp brushes in UED to be just as easy, if not easier sometimes to work with. Additive and Subtractive brushes are great for getting areas down quick and clean. The flexability might not be there but the engine focus isn't on brush based maps its very model heavy.
It took time to get used to UED brush work but once you feel your way around it I think they're equally as easy to use.

Those new trees look much better!

looking faptastic ferr@!

Your UT map looks very cool in terms of ambience and having a really complete theme; I'm actually half tempted to buy UT2k4 just to have a go at the level editor.

-
I'm gonna post that on some other forum and say that I made it.
Damn love it ferret, nice work!
-
yeah, looks fantastic ferret! gj¨~~

If a modeler or 2d artists wants to help out on the last one.
I could use models of a tomahawk launcher, harpoon launcher, AA gun and perhaps the turrets, I can provide a dxf for 3dmax or xsi reference made in hammer for size and have some photo's of the objects found on the net)

loving the first screen bluestrike
-
yeah, the first screen is definatly something worth a better look

I'd try to change the floor texture tho, crete-tiles is so used

But thats just meh
-
Yar, I should move to a new engine
