Models at an earlier stage is a terrible idea and tbh at a later stage, it completely stops the ability to iterate your designs. I know max to a reasonable degree but I would never pick it over BSP. No artist is going to let you change their meshes after they are at a reasonable level.

Just messing around with Worldcraft, Quake and Kell's Knave WAD. Pity that Quake's screenshot command messes up the gamma though.

Cool stuff Skacky. If you're not already, you should post your stuff over at func_msgboard. It's a more Quake-focused site and you'll probably get more specific feedback there. More specific than "cool stuff"

A misty morning fly-through of the CE3 SDK default map: Forest, after a small visual overhual.

AtsEst: Amazing what envoirenemt effects that engine allows for. Beautifully done.

I'm working on a scene based on a place in a Ghibli-film. Practicing texturing and modeling as last time. Dunno if it is ready for this thread but here goes:

Began blocking out some background environments.

My first and last foliage-heavy scene I will use source for. Every inch of progress is a fight ^^.

    Agreed, good stuff Dejavo

@AstEst I was looking at your screens again and noticed something that I now can't unsee, what's with the tree plane textures on one of the models (most noticeable in the first shot)?

Yeah I've been hanging there but only as a guest for a long time, but I should definitely make an account.

Very nice pictures everyone, I'm digging that CE3 forest especially but you've got some problems with planes and/or transparency with the leaves.

Yeah I know (ther are some additional things on the spruce, like floating bits of leaves), but I am not going to retexture the model just because of that, it would be kinda hard also due to them being default assets provied with the ce3 sdk and I think there is no source provided for the tree models anyway, it would make repainting quite uncomfortable.
