A map I'm working on for a Gameplay Challenge that will be starting soon on http://www.interlopers.net the rules and stuff are still being worked on but it should be cool to see everyone showing off different ideas on the same map . (more info soon)[Blocked Image: http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll311/Random_Layouts_by_vivi/hotel0011.jpg]

More updates to come in the future! Hope to get this finished by the end of the week.

Can anyone recommend UV newb mapping resources? Been delaying learning max for far too long, done a bit of the old back and forth whilst forgetting what you've learned the first time, has to stop :ssj:

some more progress on my l4d campaign, i've spent today connecting the ropeway station to the village, now i just need to connect the village to the mine and this map is finished. the ropeway station is a copy of a real place that was abandoned in the 60s and the idea is that the village and this road has been hit by landslides/general decay in all those years which is why it's all overgrown and collapsed.

i've also started planning out the 1st map which is set in tokyo itself. the survivors get to a host club where they have to turn on the power to open the rear doors, activating a disco. then they escape in an armoured-up ambulance which takes them to the 2nd, temple-based map, assuming i can have a cutscene in the middle of a campaign which should be possible.

Please please please make it a 3 map campaign. The 5 map length of the official campaigns really puts me off, I've found.

Love the idea of the disco. And those screens you have there look seriously impressive.

Excellent the0rthopaedicsurgeon, colors give a nice abandoned mood. Just one thing not very important, at the first look it makes me think to an US town but it seems to be more Japan (temple, signs...) maybe the american cars aren't welcome.

If I were you tofo, I would work on finishing a final version of great heights in hope that it gets picked for Valve's next update

Yeah, it's taking a while A couple of LBP levels aren't helping either...

Getting all my publicity stuff together, then going to start semi-episodic release (each week for 3 weeks?) starting about midway through June, once E3 is over and the blogs will actually care enough to post about some crappy HL2 mod some guy made.

    Awesome idea and awesome clip

Not sure how I missed the star wars stuff before my other post, but I agree with every post that followed, amazing stuff.

That's not an American car. I dunno what it is but it's not American.

Funny how much plant models made for a game set in PA, USA fits in Japan. Everything I've seen of their nature geography makes me think the climates and plant life are similar. I've even got a couple cherry blossom trees in front of my local public library, every spring the gutters are clogged with pink crap.

The car in the first screen is an east german Trabant 601 station wagon. Coming from eastern germany i always found it hilarious that Valve modeled one for Half Life 2. My parents had the sedan version for a couple of years. With wind coming from the back it would make 110 km/h on the highway.

the other one i think is called car_69sedan, but it doesn't look too different from toyotas or nissans back in those days, which is actually when the village is meant to have been deserted.

very grey/brown, could definitely use some more color. it seems you're trying to aim for an arabian look, you may get some inspiration for color here:

Colors are nice, yeah it could use some variation here and there, but the pic sentura posted is just too aberrant.

But it's the Dof / blur that kills me in those shots! it's horrible...

also, I'd put a little bit more vegetation, like volumetric grass.

Looks amazing neotic, but yeah you should really tune down the DOF, it will look way better.
