Crytek/Intel Mapping Contest. Will be Deathmatch. Still a lot to do. The grey things need to be skinned and theres even no gras in the level.

looking good michi. Is much of that custom content? Doesn't look like most of the Crysis based stuff I've seen though I haven't actually played it.

They are Crysis assets, except for the houses, wich I cannot tell by the screenshot if It's custom asset or brush work from the editor.

Looks good nevertheless, good luck for the contest! I'm trying my shot at SP category instead.

Hey Michi, how do you do?

I think you should adjust the fog a bit, it looks to thick.

Those houses are from one of your battlefield maps as it seems?

this is a little mini-mod of mine called Upnorth, and it will (must) have its first release on mars 10th. (this is a "100hour" school project)

and i am running this on a dell inspiron 1520.

ps. the map is not optimized!

Please, please put your texture settings higher,

also lessen the blockyness and add some nice lighting.

well, with that laptop you could easily put all settings to high. i recommend you'd do that so we can better judge the screenshots.

Not a bad effort for a school project m0ppen. Some areas that could quickly and easily be improved:

The world geometry is very flat. The buildings could do with some variation in brushwork and height.

The pile of rubble (1st pic) and the dirt/grass (2nd pic) could be made into displacements.

Replace or remove the grass sprite in second pic.

Lighting looks very flat. Since it's overcast you could have light emitting from inside buildings or add some light fixtures to buildings to create more variation in light.

This might seem odd, but can you post a screenshot of your GLView? I'm also working on a large outdoor urban area, and I'd like to know the best way to VIS it.

Map went just Beta and i coming along very nice. Time for an own thread.

Added some river as boundary and finished the vegetation set. Particles are in.

Now it's time for Item-Placement, decals and cloud setup.

It will be ready in ~10 days for final testing.

@Psychokiller: Yes the fog is thick at the moment but lighting will be the last thing I do. Its very flexible with the Time of Day feature.

The models are taken from the BF2 Mod I'm woorking on but new details will be added and they will be re-textured of course to match the CE² needs.

Didnt see you @ICQ for months!? New number?

Looks really good, the first screen looks kinda sharp though, did you photoshop that or is it like that in-game? I'd tone it a bit down....

You can control the sharpness of the rendering real-time within the ToD menu. (Time of day)
