Hah, sorry about the res i'm just having a love affair with my new monitor at the moment. As for the lighting, it's already preset to the recommended values suggested by Valve, but thanks for that anyway. By 'tweaking' i meant literally just toning down the brightness of the lights on the pub and the sun is a bit too glaring when you stand looking into it, so i cut that down in size too.

The project is a SP game for default HL2, involving crazy weapons such as sheep launchers and chav guns (it's british thing - spray someone with some White Lightning cider, their clothes change to burberry and they instantly become an enemy to the other bad guys). It's set in the style of a gameshow in a city that has been walled off to house criminals after prison overcrowding became a problem in the near future.

Whilst the story doesnt matter too much we are just trying to put enough into it (however random) so that our team (5 artists, 5 programmers) has enough to do to earn a decent grade for this final year module. It's also not a project that's likely to be publicly released, as we only have a few months to get the whole thing together, in amongst other, bigger modules, so whilst it may be alright for a university project it won't be too polished compared to other SP mods.

it comes from going to university in Middlesbrough. In fact the streets and houses, and the pub in that map are all based on actual Middlesbrough locations. Not the church tho.

Argh Imageshack doesn't work!!! Stop using it!!

Very nice guys!Your fine man, photobucket wins every time

No. It took 2 minutes to load each of those 64 images file. Photobucket is only better than imageshack in that the pictures do eventually load.

    I'd love to but I haven't a clue what to use ^^

    Sounds brilliant

As soon as I saw the screenshots I guessed it was British, so you're doing something right.

What happens if you shoot a chav with a chavgun? does it bounce the projectile to you, turning you into a chav?

And can you set traps with Bourbon?

The possibilities are endless We haven't given too much thought to the weapon design yet, we just want to kill some chavs is all.

    PogoP:

Great setting & excellent brushwork. I want to see more!

I like the current ambience so I'll guess I'll keep it. Maybe screw around a bit on the fog fade out or some blending, but I think it's OK as it is... opinions?

    Cheers.

I'd have to agree. Great attention to detail and variety in brushwork. Love the roofs!

First screen, building to the right. The window behind that tall chimney/brick structure with the spire seems odd, wouldn't think there'd be much point for a window there, not sure.

Architectural peculiarities are whatever you wan to call them are not uncommon. I've seen far worse than windows not being built in places with the best of views. If anything, it adds to the realism factor.

    nice guitar:D

When i see this stuff, i have some questions about the technic behind Duke3D Models: Are these models 3dimensional meshes consisting of vertices? What limitations do you have concerning the texture (size, fileformat)? Is the level geometry bsp or a comparable format?

That's a level, not a model or anything. The only "models" in the old Duke3D engine are sprites.

It's all map geometry with some sprites. (Changed to link)
