If the lights on those skyscrapers were on it'd make the distance look even more nicer in my opinion.

I think you should have you'r own dedicated thread in the WIP Level Gallery subforum. This map is coming along pretty nicely...

I'll put a screenshot here when I get a decent hardware and some new game supporting soft whatever shadows, volumetric whatever lights and textures with offset maps...

a brand new skybox
i've changed the cinema lighting... a bit.i have no idea how i could replace the lit windows...

-
that's sick. how long time have you spending on this map
it looks so massive
-
hehe cool. The problem with the lit windows is that they are too bright... they draw so much attention that when you try to look at the surrounding buildings your eyes just can't stop staring at them

You could also try to use color correction to achieve that cool atmosphere in the first pic. That would looks seriously good. (I'm not too keen on the purple'ish lighting atm)

Heres a couple of pictures of a map I'm currently making for Day of Defeat: Source.
The map is in a very early alpha building state hence the lack of details etc at this stage.
By the way this map is a remake of an old dod map called dod_heutau and any and all constructive feedback is welcome

Only feedback I can give you: It's a french town...another one. Doesn't matter( to me at least) how good you make it look, it stays a french town. I've seen enough of those, that it actually ruined my vacation to france...

Who will go in normandy for his holidays anyway ..

i have long pondered what would become of ww2 games when mappers run out of ideas. apparently this is what. it's a shame to see talent be washed away like this, because a subject is too limited. i cant really put a finger on why i've never liked ww2 games, but if anything, this would do as a reason.
(no offense to the poster; I blame ww2 games)
-
I blame generic american-biased post d-day games.
Theres a shitload more to WW2 than normandy which most game developer seem to forget.
