It's a really simple scene, but it's been pretty fun to work on even if I feel like I'd like to do something interior next time probably. Or a non-scifi setting.
BitSquid is a really nice engine to work with, it comes with quite a few shader options and such. But I think the best part about it is the simplicity to get stuff ingame and how fast load times are. Setting up stuff is quick and it has some sweet editor tools for quick placement/snapping and moving.
I was always a bit confused and annoyed with UDK for those things, at the time I always found it to have quite a lot of ancient garbage that hadn't been cleaned out and/or documented, and their whole lighting pipe was pretty strange to me, but that was a while ago so all these things may be way better now.

Now I've finished uni studies permanently, I'm finally getting back to (re)making a particular TF2 level I made recently into something infinitely better.
I loved the Market assets that were made for a entry into that Valve Artpass contest a while ago, was surprised that nobody has taken an attempt at the theme.

Just a quick Cryengine test from last night.. Gonna try and make an open world environment soon. Something a little more unique. Going to sculpt the base and then use just the erosion filters in World Machine. ![]()

No references in particular Seldoon (though I have collected loads of references for the scene itself), it was just an engine test. Mainly done in World Machine, a bit of work in Photoshop, and then exported to Cryengine and tweaked. It came out cartoony-ish I guess, and I may go for that sort of style... Not entirely sure just yet. I'll see where it goes!
