Very nice indeed. I like that it doesn't have the typical source look. Kinda what Mirrors Edge did for UE3.

that looks phenomenal penE! Would really love to know more on how you achieved these kind of visuals in source =)

do you mean his visuals generaly or is there anything spcial you wonder ab out. i dont know much about the limitations of the source engine, besides from the texture shader and the static lightning.

anyway it looks nice (the pictures in your post doesnt show up. duno).

but i finaly found sth that could be better:

as you can see there are in almoast every building some parts that are darker, whereas in yours thay have mainly all the same color, maybe that could bring some more contrast.

Yeah, of course there are different interpretations of Mos Eisley. While the concept art you posted shows a quite dirty and dark Mos Eisley, I'm aiming for the initial idea of the city of the original Mos Eisley scenes and the earlier concept arts by Ralph McQuarrie. For example, the lighting of this scene from the entrance of the cantina matchs more or less with the settings of my Mos Eisley

However, the concept art you posted is damn awesome

Wow penE the atmosphere you have created is spot on. Very impressive! Really can't wait to see it once it's done.

Just out of curiosity, what is this for? Portfolio piece? Fun? Mod (if so yippee!)

Hey PenE, I was wondering what texture resolution + scaling you're using in that gorgeous scene of yours, all the surfaces just look so damn high resolution it's incredibly incredible.

    Nothing extraordinary, 1024² / 512² and .125 / .25 scaled textures .

    yes but:

    1: it took 1,5 days

2: isnt it a bit ugly?

(if you want to have a closer look: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=72691)

3:what do you see as full? I mean its definitely as detailed as the original

I think the model looks pretty cool, you should post a pic of the original thing next to a screenshot of the model in the same angle, then people could give you some more accuracely feedback.

Sorry for the offTopic everybody, but something really called my attention: Did you know penE that your nick means penis in spanish? maybe you did it purposely, so i dont know.

Maps going pretty well, spent some time playing with the lighting, post process effects and additional details making sure it looks good in a small area, drew up an asset list only 11 assets to go!

That's a very sweet looking UT3 map, dude! By the way, that brick texture you use on the floor looks strange. It would look better on a wall rather than floor.

here is the result of my little 70's vs futur design experiment.

sadly i cant think of a reasonable context for it so it has to stay as a portfolio piece for now.

First stab at ZBrush. Seems likes it's going to be ridiculously fun to use.
