I hate hate hate railings that are supposed to be horizontal but are used on an angle. It looks really bad. But other than that, looks good

I like it but then again I think your use of textures is completely whacky and a bit jarring, its not bad for sure just work on the continuity

In the second shot, whatever tore up the floor looks like it got the best of the rug, too

On the topic of rugs - rug overdose! I can count 7 of them in that last shot, and I've a sneaking suspision there may be a few more lurking just off camera Is there a reason for it? You seem to have loads stacked in that room KFS commented about as well

That's probably one of the decals in INS with like 6 rugs on it. Better to take that up with the texture artist than PogoP.

Hehe, think you're right there; looking at the screenshots again it seems that the same arrangement of rugs can be seen at the bottom of the stairwell Odd way to handle rugs I'd have thought - more flexible to have each as a unique overlay and let the designer place them as they like surely?

    Inspired by q3?

Now that I see lava down there I am surprised the other shots are so dark

I'd actually be highly amused to see a pile of rugs over a broken up chunk of floor. Make it happen!

If you don't, I will... need to get back to my INS map after all

noes, keep the lava! there's not enough lava out there anyway!

What exactly is jarring? This is Iraq after all, they're not known for their wonderfully wallpapered rooms and home deco.

Lil' update. Brushwork is done for this part. Please if you see anything that needs to be changed/added just say so. Rip it apart if you want.

One minor detail is that those angled wooden beams, best seen in 3rd shot, you should rotate the side textures at a certain angles since looking at it makes it look like the angled beams were made up of a few panels.

metal struts make no sense, low ceiling, plus they aren't actually supporting anything..

nice shadow detail - would look good if it picked up the bars of the windows.

as quakis pointed out the textures are not following the direction of the beam - also, how is that attached to the wall? Looks fake. Add more damage around the wood that has fallen away, add wooden slats on the floor underneath, damage a few of the beams.

Another thing: chipboard on a supporting beam is madness, use proper wood.

Decided to keep the beams, found a few ref photos that had similar designs.

I only had about 6 days to do a map. I found out last Friday and I am going on vacation this Friday. It has a few small graphical issues, but its the best I could do. With an hour and half compile time, it was crunch time for the past few days. Wish me luck.
