Sega should change their slogan to incorporate their decades of poorly attempting to follow Nintendo's direction. Only in a manner more clever than I'm capable of coming up with right now.

I was an absolutely devoted Sonic fan in the early days, but (Like I think I've already said in this very thread) then they've been gambling and fucking around with this franchise too much now and its completely lost its relevance. It's great that they finally figured out that going back to the 2D gameplay roots was the right approach if they actually wanna make the original gameplay philosophy work.

But to me I think it wont really matter no matter what they do with it now. The very first Sonic is still one of those few games that I can play through today and still enjoy based on its merits as a genuinely good game and not just a great deal of nostalgia. But it's also just one of those things that's so inherently a 90's thing, and while that also gives it a certain charm to some, then I seriously doubt that they'll ever be able to make Sonic as timeless a character as Mario and thats the bigger underlying issue I have with it. That's really what all these last couple of attempts of reboots have been about; modernizing Sonic and making him "relevant" to a new crowd, which obviously means giving him guns and adding all kinds of annoying side characters

But when all is said and done then I'll definitely get this and check it out, I think I owe them a chance now that they're actually trying to make things right

Well it's in development. All the clip reveals for certain is the guy leaking it doesn't know how to play Sonic.

Why does so much stuff get leaked these days? Bigger teams, maybe?

It doesn't have the feeling of s3&k after all! :/ Why do I even bother to get my hopes up.

That and intentional leaks to encourage viral exposure I think.

I certainly hope that they plan to work on the inconsistency between the speed the character is travelling at and the actual animation. It looked slightly off in the reveal trailer they released and here it really looks bad.

Oh and I see they took it down, guess it wasn't an intentional leak after all

Anyway, I'm gonna keep my expectations flat on the ground, don't wanna get disappointed

Well ofc... why would you intentionally leak someone, who doesn't know you should roll when moving fast, showing off the broken physics :x

so halfway through the video sonic turns into a super sayan. wait, what?

sonic should be less about loops and confusing repetitive level design and more about keeping yourself sane under pressure, as shown here:

labyrinth was and is still the best part of the sonic games that featured those levels. best theme mechanic!

also the guy is also kinda funny, so points there.
