Disney buys Marvel for 4 billion

I thought I bought Marvel. Well, I hope this doesn't messes up the superherocomics. Batman and the princes. Hmmm

anybody else think that $4 Billion (while still a shit-ton of money) seems a bit cheap for Marvel? I mean, Disney's getting the rights to all their characters, and considering the gross revenue from the X-Men, Spiderman, Iron Man, etc movies... don't know, it just seems $4 Billion seems a bit cheap. Only way I could see this as a good deal was if Marvel was starting to tank as a business so now Disney can pick up the slack.

Heh, one giant eats another giant.
I donno, 4 billion dollars is quite a lot of mohnaise, seems fair enough

oh well .. i always felt marvel was more geared towards kids. While DC had some writers that just kept on putting that detective look on things which imo made DC awesome. Serious detective comics > overthetop superhero comics.
I just wonder if this means they are going to go with a massive kids approach with the movies... I certainly hope not \:

I'd be surprised if the acquisition lead to Disney somehow changing Marvel's bent to be more geared towards kids for family entertainment. Just for perspective, Disney also owns Miramax film company. They may be Disney but they're still a corporation and Marvel seems to be raking it in so I can't see them toying with something that works.
