Does someone have a 3D application like 3D Studio Max, etc.?

    okay if someone out there has a 3D application like 3D Studio Max or XSI Softimage, etc. will you please help me? this is what i need: well my dad won't let me buy a program that will help me map with source sdk, he just doesn't want me to spend money, well i really need a prop/entity/object, what have you, that is a TENT, but since its not an available world model i would need a 3D application like 3D Studio Max or XSI Softimage, etc. which brings me to you, if you already have a 3D application like 3D Studio Max or XSI Softimage, etc. i was wondering if you could spare me the money and make me a tent then just put it in a map and send me the bsp. file so i can copy it from there. if you would be so kind to do this then please either just reply to this forum or email me at [email protected] and i will tell you the little details of the tent that i'm asking for. thank you soooooo much in advance.

    You're not going about this the right way in my honest opinion. Everybody on these boards have seen dozens of guys asking for somebody to do their work for them, and there's a good chance nobody's going to step up and do it for you, especially since you ask for them to do EVERYTHING, to even adding the model into a level and sending it to you. Creating levels is a challenging and intensive process, and you won't be able to skip steps like that. Learn to do it yourself if you really need it.

    First of all, you can get a 1-month tryout with most of these applications, so if it's only a tent you need, you can easily learn the tool and create it in a month before your unlicenced version runs out. There's also XSI ModTool which is free of use, even though more limited than its parent.

    Second, I don't know exactly where to look for that kind of stuff, but there's bound to be some models libraries hanging on the web, with models for Half-Life 2 freely distributed. Maybe you'd find your model on there and don't have to create them.

    If you still can't find a model or create it, I'd say you'd be best rethinking your level and going for something that you can create without any custom models, with only the original ones from the game.

    I totally second Corwin. As you might know "no pain no gain". Process steps by steps and try to find quick solutions to resolve your problems (listed above). If you are on hold waiting for a miracle from your several threads that's not the way to go. Also I would like to advice you before to start anything on yours projects you should write and sketch as a preproduction process to spare you asking favors around the internet. Good luck.
