that is amazing.. I can't wait to see it working!!

I took a video of the massive cavern I found, but my internet sucks and its taking forever to upload. I'll start it uploading when I go off to school, so hopefully it'll be done when I get home and I'll be able to share it... I got lost a few times because the place is a huge maze, but it shows its glory nonetheless.

When I resurrected this thread on page 1 I posted this tutorial (which is pretty much the tutorial).

am i the only one not understanding what this game is all aboat? havent played it yet but these screenshots and videos certainly dont look very explanatory either...

Its sorta about whatever you want it to be about. Ultimate sandbox... just a very simple set of rules that govern the whole world. It goes on for infinity in all directions. You can play it like 3D pixel art, you can go mining for resources to build bigger and better tools, you can build a huge castle, you can plant a garden, you can build traps to capture the monsters.. Or if you get bored of that, strap on your best armor, grab a few swords, some food, some torches, your compass, and just set off at dawn in an unexplored direction. See how far you can make it before it gets dark, then try to make it back alive. One of my favorite things to do.

I've got a bad habit of starting new worlds whenever I sit down for a session.

The ebb and flow of what holds value to me in this game intrigues me. I've been frustrated, even angry, when I've succumbed to the lava with a couple diamonds in my inventory, I've spent way too many hours crafting fine homes.. then in an instant, I decide I'm done (no doubt with dozens of diamonds, unused, in a chest somewhere) and begin a new world. An hour ago I was literally mad because I lost a couple diamonds; now I willingly discard dozens of them along with hours of painstaking construction of a suitable home.

    It is peculiar, this minecraft.

Can you build it so it's possible to make shapes with it? Like, is there some kind of block that doesn't get absorbed by the lava? That way you could build a big smiley in there or whatever.

The only blocks I've seen lava burn through is stairs and wood, and only because it sets the wood slowly on fire. The difficulty there would be getting the lava to flow inside the smiley. You'd probably have to build it floating in midair in front of the lava screen, making the lava back light it.

    Thanks!

HP, It's already been done, I built a second stone screen in front of the first one leaving a gap so the lava can flow down between them. But it carries a special message for a special someone and until said person has seen it it shall remain a secret

But it looks fantastic, it backlits the message and during the night the lack of light sources behind the screen hide it quite well, so it is really only revealed at the very end

Try loading it from the website. Also, look in tour roaming folder under AppData and backup your savefiles

I created a new world today, and it's like a paradise. Stunning geometry, lots of caves, lots of cliffs, lots of peaks, lots of beaches. I even found Jesus.

Fun is over for your freeloaders! The website is ... somewhat back up and working. And in the nick of time, with griefing getting out of hand with all these "HURR ITS FREE THEN I CAN BE A GIANT CUNT" players.
