Poked around and found out that Paypal's been fucking with Notch for three weeks now, that 600k has built up over those three weeks with Notch with no access to it.

Notch should hook up with those Frictional guys. They both make the sorts of games nobody else does, and both are interested in making money. Notch just seems to be better at that last part as long as Paypal's not involved.

-
Apart from PayPal being massive dicks, there has been a glorious update now that enables server-side inventories, chests, etc. Multiplayer is getting better and better!
-
Incase you wondered:
Quote1340 players online, in 707 servers.607981 registered users, of which 136401 (22.43%) have bought the game.
In the last 24 hours, 12060 people registered, and 4425 people bought the game.
Notch is doing well

Yeah some japs took my domain over. Long story.
I don't need portfolio now anyway

PayPal called. They're going to require a 5% "reserve" of all sales. Unacceptable. But at least they're going to unlock my account.
Lol greedy assholes.
-

I wonder what that "reserves" means in this context. Like, 5% of those existing sales, Paypal demands must stay in Paypal? 5% extra fees on future sales? Either way totally bullshit.
edit:
QuoteThe reserve would be for 90 days, so I'd get it back. Eventually. But, still.. Daniel is helping look into alternatives right now.
Man. It's almost impressive, just how asshole this is of Paypal.

PayPal is the worst fucking thing in existence. I used to get paid through it until I had enough. The amount that they would help themselves to of my money was retarded.

This texture pack is pretty cool! Makes it look sorta Snes-like, reminiscent of Zelda. Only annoying thing is no animated texture for lava/water.

In the future, server admins will be able to set custom textures per server, so one can have themed worlds (autumn, winter, OH GOD I'M TRIPPING BALLS, etc).

Been watching the first 4 of these, pretty tempted to try it out. I'd love a good survival game!

I am quite addicted to this game. I shall post screenshots of my fortress when I get home

Word is one of the next big updates will feature biomes (desert, tropical, etc) throughout the world. I've been keeping busy with this thread for inspiration:

Right now though minecraft and I aren't on speaking terms after I fell into lava and lost 5 diamonds.

Haha some people have way too much time on their hands. It is fun but I'd never do anything that elaborate..

You sir are correct. I really wanted to like dwarf fortress but the complexity + the visual style were too much.

The only times I've ever gotten into DF were when I murdered six of my starting seven dwarves and went it alone with a single guy and a cat, so Minecraft basically already is DF for me. I've spent like four hours today on a new Survival map exploring some caves, mining and smelting ore, and building shit. I've got so much iron I've stopped using stone tools for anything, even for stuff like shovels that are so weak as to be a massive waste of resources.

You're lucky, I've started 6 worlds now and I still can't find enough iron to justify the cost of making rail road tracks/carts.
Gunpowder has been an even bigger problem though.
