Colour Managment Problems

    I've got a rather annoying problem.

    Images pasted in or opened in adobe don't look the same as they do in say firefox. This also works the other way around, images saved in adobe don't look the same in firefox.

    As you can see the reds look very different when viewed in a browser then they do in photoshop (please ignore the colour settings).

    I have tried a hard reset of adobe (alt + ctrl + shift when opening PS) but i still get colour differences. Anyone know how i can link everything together or reset everything. It's actually a nightmare doing some work at home only to find the colours are screwed up once i get to work.

    (i use the same monitor at home and work)

    I'll give that ago, Thank Barrakid.

    Just to double check, driver for the monitor i would uninstall via Device Manager and colour managerment would come under Display Props > settings > advanced > Color managment tab and delete whatever is lurking in that.

    Yea.. try something like the kodak_dc color profile.. I had this problem once too and changing to that profile fixed it for me.

    Yes, that would be it.

    This is happening because your firefox is not color managed. The images in the browser are being viewed in your monitor's color space and judging by the color shift your photoshop working space is probably adobe RGB. You do not need to delete any profiles.

    You can either un-color manage the document (bad idea for everyone elses viewing but makes your viewing match). Or you can update and or modify your firefox to color manage images and then make sure they are in sRGB space so that they match (check convert to srgb in save for web). Depending on the kind of work you do your photoshop working space should probably be sRGB. Making your images for a color managed browser is the best way to go, especially since most newer browsers are adopting it.
