It sure does, I'm not skeptical anymore. I'm pretty sure this will be great.

So for the uninitiated, why is a cover system such a horrendous addition to Max Payne?

It's the same as adding cover to quake man, Max Payne is a fast paced game, cover might ruin the pace of the game.

Bullet time is fast-paced? How do you get any slower-paced than that? Turn-based strategy?

    Nice trolling attempt, failed tho!

I recommend you watch a couple John Woo movies, like Hard Boiled! ;D

I wasn't trolling. I remember the first Max Payne being really slow-paced.

Never had a chance to play the second.

Cover would replace Bullet Time. Max doesn't hide from bullets, he dodges them, or kills enemies before they can even shoot. Kinda like how Doom Guy doesn't hide from fireballs, he circle strafes at fifty miles an hour.

And that's why I love you Jetsetlemming

I really can't envision how you'd combine cover and bullet time in any satisfying way. It just seems like you'd use it to cheat at the typical cover shooter whack-a-mole game, and that seems incredibly worthless. I may be biased however because I'm only ok with cover when it's used for stealth, like deus ex and metal gear. I want to be dodging enemy fire and killing them quickly and stunlocking them with shotgun blasts and owning faces. Max Payne 2 is pretty much the absolute best third person shooter ever released imo. I even still replay it, I'm not just going on nostalgia, either.

It looks like it's a choice between how you play, you can either duck in and out of cover or go full auto with bullet time.. or a combination of both for best effect... it's not exactly MP but it should work and I feel better about the game from that preview...

RDR has already combined a cover system and bullet time.

And you're comparing RDR to Max Payne?

rdr has a pretty similar story when you think about it.

Yeah, Max Payne doesn't have much originality or variety in terms of its core features.

    MP1: Bullet time! Cool story!

MP2: Bullet time with cool reload! Cool story!

MP3: Bullet time with cool reload with civer! Cool story!

Granted, the shooting was damn satisfying and MP1 and MP2 were great, but just saying.
