Hmm. I would have been more happy with some new maps for the first version.

New maps don't sell that well unfortunately ![]()
Yawn.
Haven't even got the first yet.
Valve really need to get a new IP to rape.
What... valve turning into a cash cow now?
Heard rumors about it but I really didn't think they'd put out a new one just 1 year after the first one.
Cash cow does come to mind, but I figure its much easier for them to put out a new Left4Dead than another episode of Half-Life 2, and considering how well the first one sold then its hardly surprising (although it still is!
)
im scared
I feel exactly the same, this news is not good and uncharacteristic of Valve and that trailer doesnt sit well for me at all :-|
so TF2 gets mad updates all the time, but L4D gets one update and then a sequel?
It's okay though... It's valve. L4D2 won't be out for another 6 years. Just as long as we get L4D DLC in the interim.
QuoteSet for Nov. 17 as an Xbox 360 and PC "exclusive", the game will add melee combat, deeper cooperative gameplay and new weapons, including a chainsaw, frying pan, axe and baseball bat.
I missed Valve's part but WOW a fucking frying pan?!! if they're charging $60 for this then this could be the first ever time Valve let me down
I'm pretty much with you guys on this one. It seems to early to release a full-blown sequel. I don't know. It just seems odd.
quote from polycount:
That's because you're not thinking in Valve time. By the time it comes out in 2014, we'll all be totally ready for it.

Yeah, this feels like a weird (and rare) misstep on Valve's part. But I've gotta hand it to them... the South is inherently funny and interesting, so kudos on that design choice.

Look at the Steam sales charts when TF2 gets a free weekend/update. It's in the top 10 week after week as it is (along with CSS and CS), because people know the game will be supported in the future. They've only just released the SDK for L4D, and by the time anyone finishes a custom campaign, the sequel will already be out.
well at least the chick looks hot.
this is a fucking joke, right? Or maybe just a DLC disguised as a sequel? ![]()
I'm quite disappointed of VALVe.. ![]()
I liked the trailer, this seems more appropriate for DLC than a new game, though.
