I got the remake on the weekend deal and I gotta say that I'm so disappointed. The voice work is kickass and adds a lot to the experience but the backgrounds are so sloppy and bad. The original game looks much better color wise imo.
Yeah, I agree. I would definitely have preferred that you could play the game with voice acting and the original graphics and not be forced to play it with the new graphics.
Yeah that CryEngine thing is amazing. Like the best fan art ever, except dynamic. 
Oh yeah, that looks awesome! I gotta make one of those, but for Sonic & Knuckles!

Looks great IMO, more like the warm art the original MI2 had. 
Much smoother animations and nicer special effects too.
