you mean being able to check the internet inside a game without having to tab out? yeha i ttoally hate that convenience. fuck valve, those faggot cunts.
luls, so alt+tab a windowed game is so different from pushing shift-tab in a steam game to get to internet?
Actually it is, because i can use chrome which is like 10x faster than the IExplore hack steam use. (I know they went away from iexplore when they did their mac release, but their current browser is still shit).
But the browser isn't my main beef with steam. Its how everything is sluggish when clicking on anything. Even opening the tool takes forever.

What kind of PC are you running on? I had some issues on my old as dogshit computer, but nothing since upgrading mid-last year.

Trust me, this new SSDO thingie is fucking revolutionary, especially for interiors since CE3 doesn't use lightmaps and everything is realtime! Crytek invented SSAO back in 2007, and it's done it again!

Damn, i seriously regret not buying a mobo with Crossfire, the DX11 patch looks awesome just from those 3 side by sides.
As far as Steam being laggy, the games take a few more seconds to launch because Steam has to do its verifications or whatever, but once ingame theres no difference. Honestly I wouldn't even play PC games if it werent for Steam its the only thing that puts the PC on the same level as a console as far as community.
Also alt tabbing out of a game with a different res than windows is running in used to be a recipe for disaster in XP not sure if thats the case with 7.

The Steam Overlay is the best feature and whenever I run into an old game I can't run through Steam, like Gothic 2 (GOG copy) or Shadowman (apparently this game is so old it doesn't actually use DirectX, but some sort of DirectDraw 3D hack?) It makes me sad and feel less likely to play the game.

In regards to steam, it is indeed pretty slow and it takes a second or two to respond to simple functions, even on up to date machines like the one I have at work. I think with all the shit they've been putting on top of it, it's getting heavier on performance.

steams never been nippy for me, but I don't care it's still the best thing that happened to pc gaming ever.

I know what I'm doing tonight! This plus the hi-res texture pack. Time to see what the rig I bought for this game can do.

Editor coming out next Wednesday

Still no news on the CDK though?
-
Holy Christ those are some whiny, preposterously self-entitled babies on that forum. No wonder Rick D hates them.

Took a few levels for a spin after installing the DX11 patch with High Res textures. Welp, the game does look a lot better now, makes one wish it was like this on release. In most areas my FPS was around 50-40, but what is up with every sewer area? Every time I got into a sewer, the framerate dropped like a rock.

Installing now, and yay for the editor soon :derp:
-
I can't get this on steam can I.
-
-
I mean I can't purchase it on steam. I need to purchase it seperately and then activate it right.
