Crysis 2

Call of Duty 6
Killzone2
Battlefield Bad Cie 2
Medal of Honor
and now Crysis2... All the same bullshit... I enjoyed Crysis and Warhead but this one is looking the best crap Cytek ever made!
Crytek copying the other console shooter made me laughing out loud as hell!
The combat looks by far to close compared to the Crysis original Mp gameplay! Seriously Crytek
!?Fortunately we can counting on Portal2, Deux Ex 3, rAge and lots of indies fps such as the ball, NS2, ...

I love Seldoons English!

I'm assuming there will be an explanation (story-wise) as to why the aliens are now ground-bound bipeds versus floaty monstrosities?

Hmm, is that 300 people at Crytek, or 300 people working on Crysis 2? If it's on one title....jeebles.
Tech looks good tho, obviously.
-
Prob coming close to 300 working on Crysis 2 if you count everyone - but then that's not such a crazy number these days

Back when I started (Almost 2 years ago) there was only like 15 people working on it from a game side perspective

Love that editor.
-
Sandbox reminds me a lot of the editor that we used at Grin. When i checked it out i found it almost identical in so many ways. Guess the tools guys at Grin took some notes or it was a coincidence since both tools more or less represented state of the art technology with their wysiwyg approach. Biggest difference was that we didn't had any tools for terrain since we used model sets even for that.

Yeh, we're actually using a mix of terrain and modular pieces. Depending on the area, and on what we want. It's a bit of a mess sometimes, but there's a lot of good things about using terrain as much as possible in CE. Better AI, less expensive, easier placement of vegetation, road tool works properly (Placement of street stripes and so on), etc!

which is the way to go if you ask me ! much finer control and you dont have to learn/apply 2 separate works flows at the same time to build you levels
terrains = 90s
It all has it's pros and cons if you ask me. I requested a terrain tool because in some situations it just makes more sense and you don't have to rely on an artist to create some smooth terrain for you (which you cant modify by yourself in the level editor if it needs tweaking).
For close up and rocky/rough stuff models are cooler because it looks more detailed.
-
bit of both like we do at crytek is perfect IMO
Don't give either art of level design all the power, let it be shared

-
So Crytek will make a conference at my school for its 10 years anniversary the 30 september :

Got to play the PC version of Crysis 2 for 10 mins or so yesterday — shieeeeeeeeeet man, so good! The combat felt excellent, and I enjoyed dealing with the big-ass Metal Gear we've all seen in trailers. I especially like the new ledge auto-grab, something I've not seen in many first-person shooters.
Didn't really explore the suit modes much but the core action gameplay is superb, and the way epic stuff is going on around you — not to mention the sheer aesthetic beauty of the cityscapes — makes for some serious immersion. Definitely going to be hard for another game to top it as shooter of 2011 if it's as consistently exemplary as Crysis was.

Where?

Eurogamer Expo I'm guessing? Not sure what we had there, obviously SP demo, did they have the MP demo?
-
Yeah both were there, quite a big presence — I think there were a good five or six rows of Crysis 2 stations. Really good event actually, got to play Fable 3, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood, LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, Medal of Honor, Brink, Gears of War 3, and Gran Turismo 5.

Anyone in the UK definitely wants to get themselves there next year. I even had a chat with Rare's programming and art directors which was cool, though sad I missed Peter Molyneux who was there the day before.

I saw somewhere that I'm going to impale you upon a tower made from your own bones.
