Every new technology tends to be overused... remember when games started to have normal maps? (<3 doom3)

That's funny, one of the nicest examples of normal maps I can think of is Half-life 2, and that came out the same year as Doom 3.

That Global Illumination video doesn't look nearly as good as it could, I think, due to the low detail textures.

Is it just me or did that "textured light" massively slow down one of the console views, whichever one was on the left?

    Also "Libarry"

Overall though, it looked cool. Paint scribbled on a real texture actually manages to look good in CryEngine, which is pretty weird. I guess the lighting engine just owns that much

The console version is a joke compared to the PC, especially considering the PC version came out last year

But also considering its a console, its pretty impressive

Maybe I'm reading it wrong but it sounds like one of the key features of the new suit is bullet time?

Yeah the nanasuit 2 is connected to your brain so we could suppose that one of the new feature on Crysis 2 might be bullet time or something similar imo... Who said wall hack !?

Well yeah, I'm not going to lie, I still do prefer the old one better. Looked more athletic and realistic for some reason, where the new one looks more like a walking tank.

But if you think about it, there's a guy inside that suit, so it has to be wider than normal human body proportions. Look at the old one, and imagine how skinny the guy inside should be. But yeah, in the end of the day what matters is what you see, not the technical stuff.

Nah, for now Crytek is only announcing how the suit looks, not gameplay elements.
