PS: I want to play this game, and ride around with my bros in the desert, hunting bears and robbing trains. The visuals are awesome as all hell, really captures the western mood.
From what I have heard (from possibly trolls) though, is that it's just GTA 4: The western - with very little to separate it from it's big brother; is this accurate?
Well, If that's true they just used a formula that works on a diferent theme, why not?
Although, IGN review said that some missions really feel like GTA, like the chatting inside vehicles between missions, etc but the game itself is very different from GTA.

I must admit that I don't share the frustration of having to deal with the bugs since I only started playing GTA4 since the game was on sale for $7,50, about one year ago.
GTA4 ran fine for me in all aspects, but it has one of the shittest framerates as far as top selling games goes. On my way to pickup Red Dead, give me a shout if anyone will be online playing tonight.
Damn yanks/canadiuuns ![]()
Hopefully somebody will break the 21st street date here.
Just have to say, loving this game! Story is great, best side quests ever + random shit. Funny, weird and/or insanely well put together. And the environments are Top notch!
This game is seriously awesome sandbox fun with STRONG western themes
! So many odes to the great movies such as knifing up a prostitute ala unforgiven.
I hope this one comes to pc as i have to play it at a friends place.
Mine was sent yesterday, should be in the mail today. Haven't been this excited for a game since GTA IV~~~WHERES THE FUCKING POSTMAN!!!1arghh
I have about 5 hours behind me on the game and jesus christ I haven't done the main missions nearly at all. There's TOO MUCH to do! Side missions, random encounters in the wild, hunting, collecting stuff. It's so awesome ![]()
And wow, the best lighting/rain visual and sound effects ever!
Oh well, got at least one copy now, weekend is safe!
Got my copy already. I'll post some movies today. :>

That was hilarious, the end really made it gold.
They only put 5 bullets in a six shooter because it had no safety, for some reason this annoys me. It's like when I watch movies based on gladiators and they do the thumbs up/down thing, with the survivor dying on thumbs down. But it's cool; I get on with it better than GTA, probably because you play a vaguely likeable character.
According to the ingame clock I'm at 24 hours now, after only really having had the game for 2 whole days
.
Absolutely stunning through and through. Unlocked the last territory now and played a few hours of missions there, and the story has taken a turn for the unexpected, in a super cool way ![]()

My first 10 hours I pretty much picked flowers, watched sunsets and played poker. Life in the west is tough.
Oh man, just finished it. One of the greatest endings to a video game ever in my opinion. I had heard the ending was pretty great, but even then I had no idea just how good it'd be.
QuoteThe entire circle of life of it is just brilliant, in that by killing John for his outlaw past, they essentially create one with Jack, and that it's exactly what John was fighting against all this time. Just sucks that you don't get to play John in the aftergame
