    Oh no ~~

I don't know what to say. I've known him for almost the last 10 years, we got to the IRC channel around the same time, he always slightly wacky but a really all round cool guy. He would always contact me on MSN once every month or two, always wanted to know if things were alright, just a really nice guy, last I talked to him was just a week or two ago.

Once, many years ago, when I wasn't online on IRC for quite a while, he actually managed to get my brothers phone number and called him to make sure everything was alright with me. At the time I kinda thought it was a bit freaky, but after a while I figured that he just cared and wanted to make sure I was okay. In other words, was being a good friend.

I don't know what to say, first time this has happened to me, that someone I knew quite well online passed away.

Truly a sad day for the core

    RIP watah, you looney.

This is really a big shock for me. Shit.

Even though I've never really been a part of the mapping scene, me being Mazy's brother lead to me knowing Martin. We've chatted quite often through the years, about the good and bad things happening in our lives.

As Morten mentioned, the one thing I will remember Martin by was the fact that he tried to get a hold of me when Morten was without internet for about a month. He never got a hold of me, just my ex girlfriend, but the effort really showed a warmth and care that you very rarely see in a person, especially from someone you have never met in real life. If he cared so much for people he knew online, he must have been the greatest person to know in real life.

    Rest in peace, Martin.

    =(

I'm still kinda expecting someone to say this was all a joke. It's really hard to believe someone can die at such a young age.

I can't imagine what it's like for his family. Best of wishes to you guys.

Like many others, this comes as a shock to me… and to be honest I am at a loss of words. I knew Martin for about 10 years, and we spoke often on IRC and on MSN about the happenings in our lives and often he would contact me to make sure things were okay. I think that describes the type of person he was; he would often go out of his way to make sure his friends were in good shape and would try to do whatever he could to cheer them up when he could.

I know for some he seemed a bit wacky or nuts, but what a lot of people didn’t know is Martin was facing a uphill battle against a major case of OCD which for many years provided much complication in his life, and he overcame thse odds and was able to go out in the world and enjoy not only his job but the companionship of his girlfriend, at the same time he made room for all his online friends and the community he so much loved.

I think we have lost a great person in this community, and it will not be the same without him. I know I will miss him and I hope that where ever he has gone he is killing things crowbars, taking pictures and secretly stalking Gabe Newell.

    Rest in peace, Martin

I didn't knew him that well, but my sincere condolences none the less. At his age it is a damn shame.

I always looked up to MrH2o, he was just such a cool guy.

He was really friendly to me, even though I was an annoying little kid on IRC.

    you will be missed watah~

I never actually had a chance to talk to him, but it saddens me none the less... how is this ever possible that someone's heart suddenly stops at such an early age?

Condolences to His family and friends.

I'm at a loss for words, I really am. Like others here, I've known mrh2o for about 10 years and chatted to him for many hours back in the day when I was a regular on IRC. A really stand up guy, always there for people, always positive about things, picking up just about anyone who was down.

    R.I.P. Martin.

Wow this really saddens me, I'm still hoping that this is all a really really bad joke :/

As many other here have already stated, Mrh2o was a really friendly and awesome guy, one of the few that were never ever ever cocky or elitist, and he has always had my respect.

My condolenses to your family and friends, Martin, their loss is unimaginable to me.

    Rest in peace

Even though I'm always a bit skeptical at first when I read about somebody passing away, especially when somebody receives a message/mail from a "girlfriend/sibling", I wouldn't expect him to fake this for a bad joke. I remember Watah as far as my memory of Mapcore goes back. I often chatted to him on IRC back in the days and he will be missed as a longtime member of this community. My most sincere condolences go out to his girlfriend and his family.
