I'm playing Metroid Prime Hunters on DS, it's an ok game despite the level design being so fucking bad. Anyways, I got 6 octoliths so far but there's no way I can find the other 2 ones... anybody here has completed this game and can help me out?

(yeah I tried gamefaqs btw but its a huge mess there, didnt help much)

Where I was supposed to clear an LZ for an evac after heading down river, where you get attacked by korean super suit guys. But after I killed them all nothing happened...

So since then I've reinstalled my PC but haven't installed crysis again because I don't really want to play to that part again...

Currently playing Plants vs Zombies, it's excellent and my pick for Game of the Year! Try the demo on steam, its a one hour trial version, once you buy it (and you will) you just carry on where you left off.

haha I just played the game, this shit is great. A little on the easy side but enjoyable experience overall, gonna pick it up =)

Purchased Plants vs. Zombies the other day, terrific game, plus I also got X-Com UFO Defense/Enemy Unknown on Steam. Was thinking of finding my old copy of it, but I figured it would be easy to just shell out the €5 instead of fiddling around with Dosbox on my own

Been playing a lot of Demon's Souls right now. Anyone who has a PS3 really should try and import it, the Asia/Chinese version is English voices and text... albeit a bit strange in places. I guess at heart it's a single player hack 'n' slash dungeon crawler, but their unusual take on death and online modes make it a lot different.

Watching the last 10 seconds of another players untimely death is just down right bizzare...

Been waiting on my Ebay order to get this one... bastards emailed me yesterday saying it will be delayed due to their shipment not arriving on time. Even after they listed '10 available' on ebay! GRr.

Well worth reading this review of the game if you've not heard of it before. The multiplayer stuff is super interesting to me, given its limited scope.

Aside from that... lots of Little Big Planet and Killzone 2 MP at the moment.

hopefully demon souls makes it across the pond

right now I'm playing Persona4 and it's wonderful.

Also playing Crysis, game is great, I love the center menu thing for your abilities, it works so well. The multiplayer is a little meh, it's not bad, it's just not great.

It's a really good game but I think that review is maybe a little OTT

The death system is really funky because it sounds punishing, which everyone focuses on. But in practice it isn't, which is why it's fun. It forces you to be careful, pay attention all the time, and makes exploring the dungeon exciting - which is what a dungeon crawler should be about. But when you die you just think "well that shortcut is open, I know the enemy positions, I got a new shield, I know how to beat that gold skeleton... I might get my souls back" and you just jump back into it.

It's the same with games like Etrian Odyssey, another game I'm playing a lot (specifically the 2nd one, and mainly on trains ). Each time you enter the dungeon you keep getting further and further but retracing your steps is easier each time. You now know the map layout, FOE positions, shortcuts, you've gained gear, levels, etc. (Well providing you managed to warp wire out...). Death is easy but it makes you stronger, in the face of the proverb.

just went back to the good old times when i played a game and used my fresh new VoodooBanshee from MiroHighscore the first time. Unreal and UT99 (amazing how many UT99 servers and players are still playing that cool fucking game) bought the unreal anthology-edition yesterday *weeeee*

    Dooooom 3

Still looks really pretty, with some suspicious plastic character baggage which lets the visuals down a bit.

Yeah, I'm playing doom3 again as well! Characters look really bad indeed, but the environments are still gorgeous! Art style of this game still holds up pretty well! It's a very well polished game!

As a environment artist, i really give the deserved respect to this game, lot's of work has been put on those levels man!

Game design is a bit weird here and there, but overall, an awesome game and deserves to be re-played!

btw d3, you might wanna give this mod a try, I'm using it and it kinda makes the game prettier!

    http://doom3.filefront.com/file/Dentons ... oom3;76838

it adds bloom, and some minor tweakings to the game.

shots i took, I've been taking loads of shots for my reference folder!

I've been playing some Killing Floor Its great for some pick up and play a round kind of thing which is great. I also just picked up Fable 2 last weekend and have been thoroughly enjoying that one.

I must agree that doom3 does still look very good for its age, although I really need to find a sound mod to make the guns not sound so weak...

a lot of "nextgen" games today still manage to look way worse than doom3, which is almost 5 years old now! I played through it again recently too and it holds up very well =)

Totally. Doom 3 kicks the teeth out of some of the newer games out without even trying. Such a great game and engine.
