Does anyone here play PC racing games using a racing wheel peripheral? If so, I'm interested in the make/model and approximately when you got it and what country. I'm compiling a list of what people are actually using (as opposed to what industry sales data says has been sold in 2008). A sample here might help me uncover some I didn't find in my rummaging of the internet and such.

I've got a flight joystick, but not a racing wheel. Really, the only racing game I've played on my pc is GTA: SA, and that controlled fine with WASD.
I don't have one myself (anymore, used to have some Logitech thing), but two of my friends who are into car-simulation use Logitech Momo Wheels with self-build pedals and gears, afaik the wheels were bought in 2006.
Just yesterday i was thinking about getting a racing wheel for my PC/xbox because i'm so fucking bored of most games these days. I always loved racing sims but they are no fun with a joypad or keyboard. Any recommendations?

Logitech ones do generally seem very well received.
You could try to contact the SK-Gaming racing team. They've some of the best racing games players in the world playing for them, and you could probably get a more educated answer, since they play almost all kinds racing games, and win most of tournaments that they attend.

You can probably get the best idea buy browsing the live for speed forum, it's probably the biggest online racing sim and there are some really hardcore players out there.
The logitech G25 is the the bees knees.

I'm from India and I use a Logitech Momo. The Logitech G25 is some 3 times more costlier here and although I've used it and I know it's better, I don't feel compelled to buy it. If it was some 50-70% more, then maybe I would. The few simmers present here use the Momo as well. The G25 has become a little more popular recently but is nowhere close to the Momo in numbers sold. Many people purchase Xbox360 controllers as well - they use it for all kinds of games. I have one too and I think it's much more popular than the Logitech wheels.
And if this thread attracts sim racers, do post your Live for Speed IDs and for those who felt the urge to play simulations (realistic ones
